haha! thanks Rob!!! my truck got to S. Florida in style thanks to you!

yup! it rained almost all week! its not always post card picture perfect here :D

thanks for all the kind words everyone! the huge and little tire combo is great. i just ordered all new acorn bullet lug nuts. this truck wont be bagged like the GMC and there wont be much to it. i already lowered the rear in that picture, installed the front bumper and made a lot of "mechanical" corrections. simple loose ends type of things. truck is already equipped with 350/350 and p/s p/b. great running gear.

hey if anyone has 1 push through center cap = 3-1/4 i believe is the diameter, please let me know i dont want to buy a set if i dont need to.

Nice truck! The stance is great and the wide whites set off the whole look of the truck.

    thanks!!!

small update... painted the centers in a red metal speckle paint and got all new acorn bullet lugs.

did some more mechanical bs too, replaced the center steering link cause it had too much free play on the tie rod fitting. its much tighter now. still need to buy and install 2 wheels studs and get an alignment for piece of mind.

looking for a cheap 4 barrel air cleaner? the one it has doesn't clear the distributor.

got to do a couple more things to the truck today...

air filter needed to be modified to clear the linkage and dizzy, i didnt like the cheapy chrome cover, so i modified a 53 Caddy hub cap to fit...

also worked on my wood. i am going to use a simple 3/4 plywood for the bed cause it will be more functional and cheaper than the chrome striped bed. i stained it "ebony" on both sides and got 1 coat of semi-gloss clear on it. plan to apply 3 coats of clear to the top side of the wood for protection...

tomorrow morning ill get an alignment and resurface the front rotors and rear drums, at which point ill find out what size studs ill need to buy the 2 broken ones. hopefully apply 2 more coats of clear to the wood so that i can install that over the weekend.

    what a morning,

got my alignment taken car off. it needed some shims and was all out of whack. now its much much better. then i went to my brakes guy (i hate the mess break fluid makes). lucky i did go to him cause we found the rear was not working at all! clogged rear hose. then the rear wheel cylinders needed rebuilding from not being used. to top it all off, the rear had the 2 small shoes on the driver drum and the 2 larger shoes on the passenger drum??? WTF? is this some sort of hot rod trick i didnt know about? not to mention just about every spring was placed backwards or wrong. thankfully its all worked out and the truck stops on a fucking dime now! its getting better and better. now off to my shop to continue clearing the wood and install my 2 missing lug nuts, that my brake guy was nice enough to find and install the 2 broken studs.

Merlin i am trying not to do signage on the doors just cause its expected. eventually it will have some lettering or advertisement, but that wont be for a while.

after fixing up some things on the transmission, such as a stuck kick down cable, crappy trans filter and a few other things i put some miles on the truck yesterday. took it down and up the Turnpike to a car show and some tacos in historic Homestead. this of course showed me more things i need to fix. next up will be rear axle bearings and seals. the passenger side splashed gear oil on the back of the tire. this morning i took the wheels for balancing which were way off balance which would explain some of the extra vibrations (thought it was the by-ply).

oh well, thats how it goes i guess. im feeling worst every time i find something new to fix, but better about the truck every time i fix something. hopefully ill stop finding things to fix so i can get to some of the aesthetics. did get to finish my wheels, bullet lugs, center caps and red metallic centers...
