Drove into Houston to catch the Hambers meet at the Shady Tavern and had a good time and met a few people. This is a once a month meet and they had a good turn out and more on the way when we left a little early for another meeting Got about 60+ pics on the http://www.hotrodchat.com/gallery/ and a few here to look at.
Had to go for chow --OK from all the engines we looked at there were no Nailheads present. There are several nailhead powered hotrods that go to the Niftee50ees show in the Houston area on Spring Cypress at Champion Forrest at the Krogers parking lot every Saturday and I am sure they would be glad to answer any questions you have--
LOL well there was a couple of well educated dogs there and I am positive they were pool hustlers! No place but Texas
ha, I have a few. Just put a stoker in my '65 Rivi, brand new built motor, 20 miles and I believe I already spun a bearing. Stupid low oil pressure carriying Nailhead!!! We talked about it shortly, as its a sore subject right now.
Isnt that the Joint where they filmed one of those Chopper reality shows? with the Long hair that looked like the dude from Newheart?
Came stock in '65, never rebuilt to my knowledge, just new gaskets and rear main seal. TH400(I believe), with a switch-pitch torque converter. I don't know the rear ratio, but I guess it's a posi; both tires spun the one night I did a burnout(I don't abuse it, nailheads aren't cheap to rebuild!).
Know what ya mean. I am doing a flatty and cant believe the cost per HP but hell thats nostalgia stuff so its worth it. With limited slip in your ride thats a plus to start with. I haven't rebuilt a nail head in many years but there a cool looking engine.
