You scored big time on this one. For every one you find in this condition there are a couple of thousand "rat rod" candidates. I'd be tempted to leave this one pretty much as is and just drive it.

The plymouth and 38 ford have been on hold while I get the shop built. I'll be turning back to full speed building by mid september.

Justa little modifications coming this week. I'm going to install some longer shackles to drop it down a bit. No other modifications, that way it can slip back into conehead mode if need be.

Had a small fuel tank leak but sealed that up quick. Been down the road at 60 and theres more pedal left and its straight as an arrow. The front tires are pooched so I've ordered up a full set of Radials from Diamond Back. I'll stuff those on late next week along with an alignment - just to be sure.

I did something today. I mean off my **** and in the shop something...

I mounted my new front shackles today. Centre to centre the holes are 5 inches.
The 1" is 6.125" This gives me exactly 2.5 inches of drop which may not seem like a lot but when compared to stock is a nice improvement. Tomorrow I'll install the rears now that I know it didnt effect the steering.

There's no clearance issues, no modifications to wishones or anything else and it did not effect the steering in anyway. I can stick with my stock 6.00 16's too (that's new Diamond back Radial replacements that iz).
( of course the stock picture is pointed down the slope of the cement but check out the white wall height.)

Tomorrow the rear shackles and we'll call it done. Its drive time.

I personally would leave her alone, but that's just my opinion. GREAT score without a doubt...

Moral of the story = If you got a supportive wife (I know times were different back then) that loves hot rods, cherish her, because some wives seriously blow ***... :p

Well, seems some folk have their ******* in a knot because I said the car was for sale and copied the add here.

Yes, its for sale and listed in cl***ified...
yes, I just bought it and now I'm reselling it.

So to keep the peace I've removed the listing from this tread.

Go work on your cars, instead of acting like old women.

    I'm so outa here.

Kindly notice the reason I need to sell it.

A kindly Canadian pointed out to me the error in my ways in responding to your comments. Heck, you dont know me or my true intent, and my responce wasn't really approprate.

I'll ask her to join me in a picture tomorrow, just for you. Read into it what you will.

Hard to say. I could imagine how after s****ing by on the home front during the war years, maybe things were pretty thread bare around their home. It may have seemed like a lavish expence, who knows?

For her to say know the second time , there must of been some pretty bad feelings ***ociated with it.

Like I said, finding the right car for our family isnt as easy as it may seem ranchwagun. I've been trying to build the right car for us for a lot of years and it hasn't been easy.

If your building a ranchwagun because you think its a cool car, go to it and have fun. Sometimes a guy builds or buys a car around the needs of his family.

Meet the most important beings in my life, My wife of 22 years Jan and our 9 year old Corky.

I know ranchwagun, my story may have seemed like ******** to you or like you said, the longest cl***ified you've ever read, but sometimes reality can be mixed in there too. Have a nice day.

Rgaller, Your profile gives little clue as to what or who you are. The above post by you speaks volumns. Did you see the post above yours? If you did and posted your reply let me be the first to say YOUR AN ***HOLE. With as little input as your post count revels I'll go out on a limb here and say if this is any indication of your values and at***ude you would not be missed if you decide to move on and find another site more in touch with your character.

Rules are rules, regardless of whether the poster has a sob story. I really don't mean this to be cold, but I don't know how else to word it. The success of this site is dependent on people following the rules.

Wow, 25 years old, no car of your own, your not even an Alliance Member and your introduction to HAMB members reads the following " I like old cars". You're really a deep Hot Rodder aren't you?

You say my posting was a sob story... I wont even touch on that, its too bad theres miles between us or I'd have to buy you a beer or at least a juicy-juice at nap time.

I do have something for you, so put down your crayons and pay attention...

About rules and people who feel they need to rub them in the faces of others: Hot Rodders by the true nature of the beast have a habit of bending, reshaping, stretching, lowering, channeling, sectioning, chopping and yes even on a rare day, breaking rules. We seem to know that about each other and over look it. Weenies who point out rules usually end up getting moved to the front of the cl*** beside the teachers desk, not because their smart or wear cool pocket protectors but so they're easier tagets for spit balls. Look out for lunch break, wedgies can really hurt wearing you're pretty lace thong.

About HAMB: Its a community, not just a forum. The longer you stay, the more you'll learn, the more you share (not **** on) and the more respect you'll earn from oldtimers who have years of experience you can gleen from. You'll learn to take a little time to wipe your nose before posting and listen without blurting out rules and over time you'll be a welcome member of the community, not sitting in the parking lot in a short bus.

I'll even attempt a little mentoring here...
Being you dont seem to have a real car of your own to fill your deep p***ion, I found one that might fill the need. Please dont report me for posting a cl***ified here again, this one is just for you.

The motor is out but the drive shaft is there. No steering but has a cool steering wheel. I've got a pair of wheels but you'll need to trailer it. Its set up as a tail dragger.
    First $1000 takes it.
Will also trade for Pretty Princess Comics of equal value.

Dont get it? I'll be happy to paint you a picture.

The success of this site is dependent on the bonds these (mostly) men have, in part, because they have weathered many of life's storms and come out bloodied, but with their heads up. Ask me how I know; and my story isn't much different that many on here. Yeah, it's built around a common love for greasy old iron, but it's a lot more than that. If you don't understand, and you don't seem to, then you can learn by listening and speaking when spoken to. Your posts absolutely reek of callow little dweeb.

I appreciate everyone's input, but I stand my ground. If everyone felt en***led to break the rules and post cl***ifieds in the wrong section, this site would degenerate rapidly. Ryan puts these rules in place for a reason, and I absolutely respect it (especially being a younger person who understands the internet better than most of the older folk).

Frankly, I'm saddened at the name calling in this thread...I would have expected better from the older generation.

Lastly, I think the car looks great. I'm not a big 2-door sedan guy, but that sits right and looks really clean!
