Hi Guys, I found this headlights on a fleamarket this past weekend and the seller didn't know where they from. I sure don't know either. Can any of you tell me where it's from? The measurements are ca 13" long and the lenses are ca 7" wide. On the lens it says SVENSKA BILFABRIKEN wich means Swedish Carfactory. But, on the other lens it says RITEWAY HEADLAMP Made in USA. I did a search of SVENSKA BILFABRIKEN and found on wikipedia that this was a factory that did stuff for Mercedes, DKW and Dodge and started in 1937. Thanks, /Andy
You really need to get a Photobucket account (it's free), and post a picture or two. Riteway was used on late 30's Plymouths, and probably Dodge, DeSoto, and Chrysler as well. But without a picture, I can't help you any more than that.
Those don't look familiar to me, however that emblem on the top should be a good clue, if anybody recognizes it. My guess is that the Riteway lense was put in there as a replacement, and might not be the original.
I don't know but the stands make me think cab over truck or a big buss. I don't think that they are a domestic automobile but I've been wrong before. I really like them!
Skidsteer, I agree with you about the top that looks lika a globe. I thought it would be an easier find on the net with that. tommy, I have searched the hamb and on the net for COE but there is none that has those headlights. Maybe it could be a bus like you say. The stands sure look like it would belong on a COE. Studebakers COE has someone that look like mine but there is no globe on top. And they're not long enough Thanks guys. /Andy
Any more ideas what these headlights used to belong to. I have search the whole net looking but not much luck. Dodge from 37-38 has the globe on the hood and what I've seen also on the headlights. /Andy
