Anybody located in western washington knows about the severe weather we had yesterday. Im sad to say that the damage hit close to home.

It has been confirmed that at 4pm yesterday, an F-1 tornado hit western washington. It hit some very good friends of mine, whom i basically consider my other grandparents, 102 year old barn, and also took out their garage

This was less than 10 min from my house.

Inside of the garage was a 1946 model 70 john deer, a 1954 John deere 170 diesel, and his origional 52' GMC. I was the last one to drive the truck, and the only one he'll let drive it.

Heres some pics of the damage.

that ****s. on a positive note that truck could have been crushed much worse. didn't even break the gl*** or hurt the doors

keep that roof away from Bondo Bobs. a person who knows how to work metal could put that back pretty close, then shrink the creased areas. a person without a clue would cause more damage getting it close then smother it in mud.

that would be a fun challenge.

    F-1 ???
Wow, I didn't realize they went that low. Out here in tornado alley, we dont even call it a tornado untill it's a high 2 or 3 :D

Sorry, not trying to mock your pain, but in the grand scheme of things, you guys got off pretty light.

The old truck can be fixed.

  15. Sorry to see the damage, but good to hear everyone was ok. The roofs on those trucks bolt on at the belt line and there is a seam on the A and B pillar to replace the top half if it is necessary. The truck should save ok. Pat.

Just think the coincidence if the truck was an F-1

Hate to see stuff like that, hopefully the twister missed the house so it still can be lived in, that is if they lived there. Don't step on any rusty nails cleaning up.
Like others have said the Chevy can be fixed better than new.

Too bad about the barn, stood tall for 102 years, then gone in 5 seconds, I have one on my farm I would hate to see go like that.

  19. I figured that's why the storm went through the garage, because the truck isn't an F-1.

It was a horrible day yesterday, but I had no idea it got that bad. As long as no one got hurt, the other stuff can be fixed.

Yes, the truck does still run. We lifted the roof of the building off the truck with a tractor, and i was able to crawl in it, get it running, and drive it over to the side of the house. It completely missed the house as well.

They had insurance on everything, so the adjusters will be out tomorrow. The truck will be repaired.

Everyone is ok, and the only fatality was a single cow. 5 head are still missing though.

Its incredible the damage though. There are pieces of the roof tin half mile away wrapped around trees 40 feet high.

**** like this doesnt happen round here

never heard anything about this. what a bummer because old barns are cool. that truck was nice and someone was actually taking care of it and this happens glad nobody got hurt.

  25. Hate to see this stuff, glad there was no one hurt!! You don't state their ages, but if you consider them grandparents I would guess there getting up there. Hope you and your freinds can help keep there moral up, it's hard for older folks to have the will to rebuild.

Art is 82, and Shirly is 81.

They stated that they have no intentions on rebuilding the barn. The Jimmy will definatly be rebuilt.

It did however crack the A pillars, and the doors dont close completely

The vehicles faired well compared to the barn. Must've been an amazing sight to see that storm come through. Thankfully it's only material items damaged.

Holy ****! Was Enumclaw the only place it touched down? My Mother lives in Western Washington and is visiting her dad in Texas right now. She comes home today. I sure hope everything is alright! Glad no one but a cow was hurt. Stuff like that just doesn't happen in Washington! Damn!
