I'm ready to go with new shoes on the '54. Anyone have any recommendations on tire/wheel styles and sizes? I want to have a more traditional look, but I'm not an absolute die-hard traditionalist. Just want it to look good and be drivable. I know I want to go with white walls. I'm thinking maybe 14" black steel wheels up front w/spiders and trim rings, wearing a white wall radial. Out back the same wheels in a 15" with a white wall cheater slick tucked up in there. Thoughts? Recommendations? Keep the billet wheels? ha ha ha ha....

Ya, I used to run chrome reverse wheels back in the early '90s before I got the "pro touring" bug. Want to do something a little different. I think I'll p*** on the floaters... Nasty.

Skyrodder, that looks great. Mine has more of a rake to it. Lower in front. More aggresive looking. I think I need a wider white wall to compensate for that stance or it looks a little "off"...

Anyone running WW's with a rake rather than a taildragger type stance?

They have the same bolt pattern as s-10's, camaros, and alot of other non-Full Size GM cars.

A set of stock steel dog-dish S-10 wheels 14" would probably be about $50 at a junkyard.

just put new shoes on my 53 and what i thought was gonna be a simple project turned into a month long project went from stock dog dishes to olds fiestas which dont fit a stock chevy rim so after hunting down some steelies that were offset 1/2 inch got them on still getting used to the red but not a bad 50s look

I think a set of red wheels, with 2 1/4"-ish wide white bias-plys, and a set of lancers would look really good. I prefer 15's over 14's in steel wheels. That being said, I'm running 14" chrome steel wheels, with spiders on f-78s.

I've still got my billet gauge panel. ha ha ha... No, I LOVE the look of the white walls, and the car really is more of a custom. Leaded the hood, frenched dual antennas, frenched olds tail lights, trim removed/filled, shaved door handles, it's ready to finally be what it was meant to be. I've done my billet phase, and I'm kinda over that. Doesn't get me excited anymore.
