What kind of sealer can I use on the screw-in oil gallery plugs on my engine block. Will teflon tape work?
    Thanks

  2. if it was me i would:

never use teflon tape anywhere that a piece of it broken loose would cause a problem, such as fuel line connections, and engine oil galley fitting and plugs.

for those oil fittings and galley plugs i would use a non hardening sealer, such as permatex, or you could use the teflon liquid sealers that are on the market.

whatever you use, do so sparingly, i myself dont like the excess floating around inside my engines and neither should you.

    hope this helps

Despite the seeming distate for teflon tape, I use it. The secret is not to have it extend beyond the threads - actually you should have the lower threads exposed so there is no danger of it getting inside.
