    it was a good night!

  2. I cruised most the night, but trying to take a break and park was a bitch. Rydel's lot full all night and some guys blocking off the curb area where the Poncho dealer was with cones to save spots for his friends sucks. Then there was the lawn chair old pharts every place. it was tuff finding a place to park between Burbank and Oxnard. Kinda like the old days. Damn it was fun though. Still running into people I have not seen in decades back out on the blvd.

i had to hunt apartments last night, i had to find one and be in at the weekend or i'm living in a cardboard box. Looks like I found one at Sherman Way and De Soto.

Was almost like a cruise going through Canoga Park last night, so many people heading for Van Nuys..

  4. You couldn't drive another car and just watch? I wouldn't have missed it for the world.

  5. It's going to a good home. I saw him race in 95. He always had some cool stuff on the track. Isn't he retired now?

  6. I don't think he's racing currently. But, he still has the Dragster. Super nice guy.

Weee! That was fun. I saw my girlfreind pass me on the road, we waved at each other. Then I pulled over and got on the bike to I could flag her down there were so many people I never saw her again that night. Madness.

Amazing turnout last night!!! Rydell, Ralph's, Gas Stations and Van Nuys Blvd was packed. You couldnt find parking anywhere... It was almost like you were being forced to cruise lol. Never seen it like that before. I met a gentleman that drove out from Corona for tonights cruise. He said that he saw it mentioned on the news last month and he just had to be here. Pretty cool what a little positive media can do for the cruise.
ahh one more month to go...

Another fun night, but after directing traffic in the lot for a couple of hours, I can tell you I have a whole new appreciation for how much fun Reid DOESN'T usually get to have at these things :p

Hi all - Thanx to everyone for another successful cruise. Always a wonderful time!

Great therapy for me since the B/F let me loose last week. I'm a free woman and I like it that way! Just ME AND MY CARS. Cars don't get jealous when you drive other cars!

The more I know men, the better I like my cars!
    No Shit!

Oh, and if it has tires or testicles, it's gonna give you problems.

I hope this will only get bigger and better each time, seems like we need to do some self policeing so the few that seem like they want to mess it up for everyone else arent going to be given that opportunity.

the turnout last night seems like it trippled+ since the last. cars lined up all the way up the cruise path, and everywhere else you looked was incredible. what a beautiful night!!

Turn out was great. I don't recall the blvd. being that crowded back in the day.

One issue is that there is a lot more red on the curbs than there used to be back in the day. Wonder if LAPD would be willing to let that go on cruise night, parking was a real pain, it would certainly free up more space.

Of course, on the positive side, the cruise really stretched down the blvd. quite a bit furthur than prior cruises.

I thought the lack of lighting in the Rydell lot into the evening was a ploy to get more people out to cruise. Looks like it worked! Shoulda kept the lights off. When I came back by on one of my laps, they were on. It seems like there were more cars out on the "Bull" (as Groucho says)...and I believe the lack of lighting was to blame!
LOL! BTW- I never took my chair out of the trunk of the Chevelle. Aren't you proud?

Rob - I still LOVE the hair. I hope you made it home OK. That's quite a drive with an uncertain linkage issue. I'll keep my fingers crossed for ya!

the place was packed, hung out mostly next to the Ralph's parking lot. The cop on the bicycle even went out into traffic and stopped it so some cars could pull out of the drive way and cruise.

    Wow what a great night.

It was great to see cars parked at every inch of street parkig. Some complain, but I call that real cruising. Dive, pullover, drive, pullover, drive some more.

My highlight wa seeing that beautiful black 47/48 chevy draggin ass and laying sparks down the street. I'm all grown up now and I know that kind of stuff might be negative... but cool is cool.

What an outstanding night! It truly approached the level of the good old days. I was not impressed by the red Impala, it made more noise than anything else. It was a pretty car though.

I heard more stupid rumors! Stupid stuff, like: "This is the last one...it's shutting down for winter break." and "Rydell doesn't want us here anymore. They're closing the lot, so we can't come back." and "The low rider cars dragging their frame are going to set the Blvd on fire. They're ruining it for everyone!" (Admittedly, the last one came from a chick).

The police seemed to look the other way on a lot of the violations. The three bicycle cops stopped to check out Rand's Daytona, and one of them went gaga over it. They must have talked for about 15 minutes with him.

Barring any accidents or fatalities, I don't think the light to lights, and the occasional burnout or low rider dragging his frame, will actually kill this thing. I did see a small group of young guys watching from the Ralph's lot, put away a case of beer, though. After that, they drove off down the Blvd.....

Again, I want to say that we have to let the police do THEIR job. Any self-policing and/or vigilantism, will lead to confrontations and fights, possibly even a stabbing or shooting. That WILL, indeed, bring the police...and stuff like that WILL definitely kill this event.

  21. i agree im done with self-policing unless me or my family is in danger! with thats said, i think that idiot radio active bob should stop trying to stop traffic on the blvd? he is going to cause a accident.

Another great turnout with awesome people and the cars to match. I made it out with the family but had to leave early because of the little ones. I still managed to take pics of the cruisers before I had to leave. I was impressed to see that cruisers were lined up along Van Nuys Blvd, all the way to Victory Blvd. This event is still growing and I progressivley see more vehicles each month. Put to rest all the rumors of this event going away anytime soon. Maybe having limited space in the Rydell parking lot wasn't such a negative thing. Wish I could have stayed longer, maybe next month.

    Anyway here are the goods:

Nice to know that you only look out for yourself. HOWEVER there are some of us that look out for other people, and Radio Bob was the first one
to jump in and lend a hand from the begining. How dare you criticize Bob for volunteering his time so that so many people can safely exit the lot. When every driveway has to be monitored, and traffic directed, and this is an all volunteer organization, Bob has spent just as many hours working as Pam & Jesse he doesn't cruise, JUST WORK!!! Ask MCM or El Robo just how fun
(read hard as hell) it is to manage a driveway when people are tring to run
you down from both directions. Bob has come to my rescue more than once. Ask how many of us have been cussed out by people told the lot
is full, or blow by you anyway almost running you down. Even Chip has been cussed out more than a few times. But thanks to all the efforts of
the volunteers that keep most things under control INCULUDING TRASH
    we are still invited back.

I for one I am very grateful to Bob for all he is doing to save my car from getting hit. It is so difficult to see past all the people standing in the driveway the cars, the Hot dog stand, the roach coach that block the view from getting out. I honestly believe without all the hard work he does we would see many, cars and people hurt. Bob I take my hat off to you for what you do for me and my family and not to mention my car by keeping us safe. Next month I will show my thanks to you Bob what do you drink my man ?????
