Okay, I used the search function to no avail and yes I may be a tight wad but I still don't feel right about any store bought A/C unit I've seen yet. I want a trunk mounted heat and A/C unit and even the store bought units are going to take lots of fab to look/work right. I've been told a Suburban rear unit is what I need but it doesnt look like a good starting point and a friend with a car similar to mine said his store bought trunk unit wasn't big enough to really cool. With so much of this stuff universal I can't see the price of these units if there is an junkyard OEM unit that can be converted. Any one found a good oem unit for a starting point?

What about buying an old aftermarket underdash unit, and connecting it to the compressor/condensor of your liking?

Vintage Air was repopping the Mark IV, but quit.

Some time ago, my wife drove a Ford Aerostar van with dual air conditioning. The rear air conditioner setup pushed a lot of cool air. Lots of these vans were built, so you might be able to find some suitable bits at salvage to help the cause.

i have been thinking about this for while now my daily driver civic blows about 60 when its 120 outside the unit is small and if you can use the comppresor it would make it even better they are made for low hp motors
