You guys in Japan make me so jealous I dance around all red like Yosemite Sam. Just kidding, AWESOME cars. I can't imagine what amount of work went into chopping that orange 4 door Chevy. Crazy crazy chop top car yeah? Neat stuff. What did I hear about the Milner coupe in Japan? Just visiting, I hope. I have no problem exporting hot rods and kustoms, as I sold a chopped 50 Ford truck to a guy in Yokahama, but hopefully it is coming home??!!!
WOW!! I am fucking speechless. You know, you guys really don't fuck around at all with your hot rods and kustoms. Some of the guys over here should take lessons and styling cues from you guys. You guys really actually must have big balls to pull off some of those chops. Amazing and always a treat to see your fine fine stuff. Neat to see some ex-local hot rods over there now, too. By the way, is that Willow's (friend of the Shifter's c.c. from Orange County) 53 or 54 Chevy? (the blue one with black primer hood and roof with 56 Buick bumper and chopt top)
Did Harlan move to Japan to built that orange Chevy? I'm sorry but the chop on that one is just to much.
Nice cars! Dumb question -- how does one tint headlights? I love this car (with the exception of the little squiggles near the side trim).
Nice site Mal, well done. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Did anyone notice the good looking compact steering side-steer box on what appears to be a T-Bucket in Barnett's first pic? Looks like the answer to more than a few questions. I'd bet that box is easily found here in the states.
I found it! 2TG TOYOTA motor-"TOY T"('23 MODEL-T) from "MAD FABRICATORS SOCIETY"/ PASO 2003 http://www.madfabricators.com/
[ QUOTE ] Dumb question -- how does one tint headlights? [/ QUOTE ] A German company called Foliatech sells headlight tint film, but I think colored window tint is the same thing. Craig
hey Mal - you don't happen to have any info or other pics of that chopped orange 60 Bel Air do you? Thanks Lounge
That orange Chevy has been in several issues of BurnOut Magazine. It's a really cool ride, but it's odd that the owner (or builder) chose to leave the door handles after doing all that work to the car. Still a really cool ride.
I really like the chop on that car I wish I could find out more about the windshield area. Like did they cut the windsheild, sink it, or is it lexan? I want to chop mine but the windsheild is my biggest problem. I was thinking of using a 2dr hardtop windsheild and sinking it. but I don't think that would give me just a whole lot of a chop. I'm guessing 2or3 inches. but that will be a while off untill I get my 54 going.
This orange Chevy was customized by "Border's", was shocking for the custom scene in Japan... I was surprised that the power window of this car operated normally. The name is "Koyoh" (Colored Leaves)

[/ QUOTE ] I'm in the same place "what to do with the windshield" Hey Kustomd - does it look like a different rear windshield has been sliced in looking at that rear veiw that Mal just posted? Lounge
I saw another pic of the rearend a while back and it kind of looks like the rear glass out of a 49-52 chevy fleetline but the pic I saw of it wasn't very good so it could have been a damn camaro or something. Mal thanks for the little bit of info I have been wondering who built it since I first saw it in a magazine article.
