pulled it out this afternoon & hauled it home. 1937 olds. the owner died & his granddaughter inherited it & said she needed money so i made an offer & they handed me the ***le. it sure is a nice car maybe ill see if it runs, its been sitting quite awhile. someone backed into the front fender years ago otherwise its straight & solid.
Pisses me off that my daughter will also likely sell my car off to the first yahoo that comes along. LOL Nice find. Congrats.
My folks had the exact car, when I was about 3 yrs old. I remember it was setting up on blocks in the yd for a couple of yrs during the war, because of tires.
Brings up a good point. Everyone should be prepared with the best instructions we can for the family as to what to do with our "stash" if we die. Probably should do the same with cars and tools too!
no im not going to hack it up. im going to clean, polish, va*** and get any little thing its missing & probably never take it off the trailer hoping someone wants it & ill deliver it right to their house.
Boy, that thing looks familiar...did you get it in southeast Minnesota? I grew up down there south of Rochester, and I wonder if I've seen it before.
I've got a buddy who has a 37 olds coupe. Hes asked me to put it on the bay for him. Super solid also. That sedan will make a great ride. 48 Poncho
Boy as nice as that is, I'd dolly out the dent, spot in the paint, and take it to the AACA shows and see who I could tick off making them think I was going to rod it.
Glad you got it . Looks like alot of fun a family cruser. Most of the time a s****per with a wrecker gets called around here. You know we wil pay you to haul off your old junk cars.
gave it a few hours of clean up. she cleans up nice! (still cleaning) -- i think ill get it running she turns over but has weak spark so maybe tomorrow ill work on it again & maybe go for a cruise?! fixed all the little things, door locks, dome light switch, windows all working nice, etc... etc... i like all the **** to work on a car. if it has it i want it to work!
****, that's nice!!! Love the rear suicide doors! I don't know if I'd paint it or leave well enough alone, cosmetically. Something to be said for a completely original car that rodding or restoring can't possibly improve on!
