Just figured I'd say hi to every one. Im just a broke college kid with an expensive hobby haha. I've got a '55 1st series chevy 3600 with the 235 and 3 on the tree. Pretty much all stock. Was repainted once and striped by a local old times "corky" looks alright from 25ft theese days haha. Typical north truck, has some rot but over all pretty solid. I always wanted this body style and thought it was cool that these 1st series are pretty rare aparently. I would like to get the thing down low but have been spending all my money on my bike haha shh! One day itll be a few inches off the ground (its just about on the bump stops now, not sure why its still so high ugh). Will proly have the 235 done up you know triple rochester set up on an old offy intake, fenton headers, 261 cam, roller rockers, all that silly stuff. any ways heres the beeter... and for good measure
Looks great. Check out some of us other AD guys here, http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/group.php?groupid=132
Thanks guys! ...can any one point me in the right direction of a 4 speed that fits the 235? I'd like to actually be able to do over 50mph with out turning 5000rpm haha. This thing has some farm gears, probably like 6.10's out back haha. I usually dont even end up touching 1st its so low. Should be picking up a 4" drop axle for it over winter and fliping the axle out back on top of the leafs. There some wicked nice truck over in that other section, damn lol.
Get a T-5 for it. The first series 55 will already has an open rear end. I have one that I just took out of my '54 comeplete and ready to bolt in. Already setup for a 235. r
The brog warner T5? Like whats in my S10? Which bell housing would I need to find? The one for the old 2.2, or the 2.8, or the 4.3 or the older mustangs? Or will the one off the '55 bolt up to the T5?
Use the original belhousing for the 216/235. There are some small things to do for the swap. Do a search and you'll find the step-by-step info. If you don't find it, then PM me and I'll get you the info. r
