    Hi people,
this thread will have 39,40,41 Fords from New Zealand. The family have a 41 Ford pickup and a 39 Ford coupe, that were new in New Zealand. Most of the 40,41,47 Ford pickups were new for the New Zealand Army as cab and chassis, which is why many of these pickups here do not have the original wellsides. There were heaps of 39 Ford coupes in New Zealand, and alot of them were used for stockcar racing which reduced numbers. The 39 Ford coupes are very sort after in this country, and very rarely come up for sale. There were no 40 Ford sedans or coupes new in New Zealand. Over the last few years there have been a few 40 pickups, 40 coupes,40converts, imported from USA.

This photo of the 40 Ford pickup, was taken in 1991, and is the best I have seen in this country. This pickup was all original

Heres a mates 40 Ford he has owned for many years, and was rebuilt from scratch, after it was found on a farm in a bad way after a storm.

Heres the family 39 Ford coupe, has been in the family for 40 years. The blue light on the roof was used in the early days, when you had to have it on if you were towing a trailer.

Heres a 39 Ford convertible, which was restored in the 80s, and is still in mint condition. There are only 3 convertible 39 Fords that I know of in New Zealand

    Got any Sloper pictures?

  22. I believe the slopers pretty much an Australian affair.
Any in New Zealand would have been imported privately from there.

You Kiwis sure have an eye for GREAT lookin' Hot Rods!

    Nick.

  28. Some nice examples. Very neat to have kept yours in the family all these years. (I've had my '36 for a long time, too.) Are yours original or survivors? I don't recall that shade of green being a factory color. What is it called?

  29. Some pics from my trip a couple of years back. A very strong old car scene for a population of only 4 million........
