High school metal shop teacher at Bloomington Kennedy. Been around old bikes and cars since diapers. Started buidling chops in cl*** with my students to keep them interested in school. I am working on getting a hot rod build going in the near future too. Here is the school website

My first day in shop cl*** my teacher stands up and says"Boys we need to go over some shop rules". He pulls out his pocket knife and holds in the air an says"This is what you DO NOT do" he chunks the blade and it stabs into his foot. All us kids was WIDE EYED an freaking out. The he starts laughing and sits down. He bends over to his foot and he pulls right off his leg.(tha old ******* had a fake foot and loved putting on a show) He was a great influence in my life. Keep it real with your kids man, your giving them some great direction in life.

one of my funniest safety lessons, was actually at tech school, the teacher comes into cl***, with a nail sticking in his eye like nothings wrong, ****er had a removeable job. auto shop was the best, picked up a lot of the basics and welding and such, never learned much about proper stuff til i went to the tech school, or picked up a book on my own, was nice to have time to get stuff done though. one fond memory, was watching the instructor jump, when i came walking in calmly, "johnson, wheres the fire extinguisher?", buddy tried starting a car in the paint booth with just a fuel line shoved down the intake where the carb was.. we were left to our own devices sometimes

I am from SO. MN. My daughter had a function at your school last year. I enjoyed seeing the metalwork and cycle project photos in the school display cases. It's great there are people teaching metalworking as an art/craft especially in a metro-school program. Great job!
My favorite shop memory was my teacher demonstrating the power of oxy/acetylene. Straight oxygen in a baloon lit with a torch, ****; Straight acetylene in a baloon lit with a torch, **** with soot. Oxy/acetylene in a baloon lit with a torch and Kablaaaaaaaam! Knocked the fluorescents out of the bulbs, blew the dust off them, and sent kids diving for cover. Emptied the whole wing of the school! A priceless moment.

Nice- lets chop it & drop it! Is this the rig from Christians or from Pikes farm? It looks like you will be busy with this one - so send that 30 Ford down to the auto shop, it will look good on a trailer being pulled by our 35 Ford pickup. later, Billy

Well the Model A project is starting with the kids in my metal manufacturing and chopper cl***es. I hope this inspires some kids to get into old cars! I have done quite a few antique bikes with them but this will be the first 4 wheel project for me. Here is a 1947 Knucklehead we did two years ago the pic is me barrel racing it in Sturgis this year
