A Studebaker Drivers Club member I've never met sent me a set of baby moons for my Wagonaire with instructions to "pay it forward" the next time a club member needed help. Can't beat free, can ya?

I'm converting an 8ba from a 50 car for use in a 49 panel and needed a flywheel drilled for a 10 inch clutch. Last night I call this guy I know and go over to his place for the first time and he has 3 stacks five feet high of just flathead flywheels. Not kidding. I start going through the first stack and halfway down find one. Ask him how much and he says take it don't worry about it. I could not believe it, very cool.

  4. I saw a pair of 32 5w coupe quaters at a swap early this year, the guy did not want to sell them :( so i say if you change your mind here is my number. Well my mate sends me a message saying 'arnt these the quaters you wanted? they are on e-bay', i send the guy a message, he remembers me but lost my number, he says i will end the auction if you still want them, next day i have them ........sweet :)

I still feel pretty stoked about finding a hip top Kennedy toolbox at a yard sale for $4, but it's hard to put it in the same cl*** as what you guys have gotten today! :D.

Last Friday I scored a complete 331 Hemi from a close friend for a very small amount of labor . Today , a guy stops by with a nice '32 Ford PU cab with column, dash, windshield ,and all hardware . He's on his way to a local swap meet with it , so we struck a quick deal and I now have yet another project I don't need.

I've been giving a young guy some parts to get him started on his first rod project. Got to steer him in the right direction with the style. He is a bodyman by profession and does great work. Not HAMB friendly, but he painted this:

A 1950 Ford F6 for $400, and the 8RT isn't stuck for once, lol. I haven't gotten anything all year, and figured Id best get a couple things to make it through the Winter. So I got this truck, and have tabs on a couple other things that I hope to get before too long.

  13. a good buddy of mine runs a salvage yard. I go out there today to return some chrome pulleys I didn't need. Off in the corner I see a sbc, but it has MERC CRUISER 228 valve covers on it. The covers are almost new, with all the stickers. I ask him what's up with them, and he says, "you can have 'em", just bring me a set to keep the rain out. With the valve covers clearly stating the size of the motor, that's one question I'll be able to stop answering.

Found a 1962 Buick wildcat at the U-Pull It with a 1971 oil change sticker on it, so I figure it's been sitting there at least 35 years or so. Both front wheels were off and the 45 fin aluminum brake drums were hanging out for everyone to see. I couldn't belive they were still there. I just pulled off the dust caps, spun off the nuts and walked out with a pair of never turned finned buick brake drums for $40.

Oh, and the 401 nailhead is still in it too.

My brother has a buddy that bought some tires and slicks at a yard sale, he said Mark they won't fit my Camaro, there in the way, in the garage. I know your brother's into hot rods tell him to come get them. My brother tells me there real rusty or tarnished wheels somebody used for drag racing. I never go get them. My Dad goes over to the guys house with my brother and gets them, stops by my house and says are these wheels worth anything - My jaw drops there 16x10 halibrands still have the Goodyear Blue Streaks slicks on. They had been spray painted silver. I contacted Shaky Puddin and he told me about the vinegar/magnesium test and they end up being magnesium. I sold them for $1400 at Bowling Green HRR in June. $0 to $1400 cash in hand, I could have gotten more, but I'm happy. There's some pics of them in my albums.

The favorite brother in law tells me he'd like to get rid of his storage shed for a ridiculous good price.
Man,this would free up soooo much space in my garage that I do believe I could get my hot rod back in there.
    He's a helluva nice guy....

just got back from a 70 mile road trip to pick up a 3spd for my 53 the guy sold it to me for 30 bucks and it looks brand new inside. My old one the original owner ran it with no fluid till it welded the input shaft needle bearings solid so its toast.
