Let's be honest, who doesn't look in their neighbor's properties for stuff?

How many of you can honestly say that you have never looked whilst strolling the neighborhood?

So let's see them, the hidden treasures so close to home. The ones that we are hoping that no one else knows about, those same ones that we hope to bring home.

I have some and will post some pictures myself later when I get the chance.

    Stories will do also.
Even stories of the ones that got away.

limit 5 blocks for you city folk and 5 country "miles" for you folks out there.

I look but it's my little secret as to what's out there. (For the owner's sake. I don't want them bothered any more than they already are.)

  6. My nieghbor, Bill, a house down has a really nice 41 Hudson coupe. Good guy.
There's some younger guys at the end of the block that are into the
japanese cars and bikes big time. They are just as innovative as any rodder. I shoot the **** with them quite a bit too. One of them had a cool 401 Gremlin in primer and has a 1969 Datsun 510 that's really tricked out.
A few bikes,Lots of Harleys. There's a 70's Ferrari a few blocks away. A nice 56 Chevy post. I see lots of rods going by on a main resi street within view of my house. A lot of them are regulars but don't know how close they are. I'll post some pics as I get some.

One guy has quite a collection of stock Model A's just a few blocks away. All are restored. All are driven. None are for sale. I think he has nine of them, along with an AA truck.

Couple of real nice Stovebolt trucks up the street, both '46 1/2-tons.

Another guy has several late-model Corvettes and a tricked-out SSR truck...couple of fine scoots, too!

Heard about a '36 Dodge with a 440 that recently moved close to me. Looking for that one, for sure!

There is a '65 AMC Amb***ador ragtop that the neighbor guy will do nothing with. It's been sitting outside, with a torn-up top, for several years. He did move it closer to his house and further from the street and prying eyes. He'll die with it rotting to the ground.

Another guy down the street has some real neat hot rod **** - '41 Ford coupe w/283 Chevy, built in 1961and parked in 1966, stored since!; 1967 Chevy van that came without the side cargo doors (neat ride!); '54 Chevy 210 4-door (sweet car, even for you moredoor haters out there!), '56 Merc coupe, a few '65 C-10 Chevs, and some other stuff. All of it is for sale, too.

Another guy real close by has a '46 Lincoln coupe and a '55 Chevy Cameo for sale. The Lincoln is a complete car, and the Cameo is missing the windshields and a couple of minor items.

Couple of neat '71 Chargers close by, too, for sale.

Off the top of my head, there's a 69 Camaro 4 doors down, covered with tarps & almost completely surrounded by milkcrates making it pretty much impossible to see. There's about 5-6 cars in the brush about 1/4mi from my house up the hill behind me. I know who owns the property & have gotten verbal permission to get em, but that was 5 years ago. Not even sure if they're still there. Another guy up the hill from me about 50 ft through the trees has too many to list, Multiple model T's, 58 Fairlane, 20's White fire engine & a good half dozen more he said are behind his house I haven't seen. Not a whole lot of garages/yards for people to hide stuff in my neighborhood

about 5 miles from us theres a model a grill shell in the top of a tree with a limb growin around it... i would say its been there since the 40s or so cause its a big tree and you just make out the grill shell ill try to get a pick of it too one day

at our old house just a mile or so down the road from us me and my dad spoted an old panel truck so we stopped one day seen the old man that lived there outside and asked him about it we got the no its not forsale but we could go look at it we get over and start lookin it over and its an all original 32 ford panel truck missing very few parts we go back up and my dad offered him stupid money and got the ol no im not goin to fix it up...
well we moved off and went back over there to see if it was still around and we pulled in to the drive and the guy comes out and tells us that when the price of steel went up he needed the money and sent to the crusher.....im still sick over that one...

and just down the road from a buddy of ours house he took us to a bridge over the river to have us tell him what kind of car this was stickin out of the side of the bridge we get down there and me and my dad fall over its a 32 5 window from about the door jamb back sticking out of the concrete and the bridge was fairly new!!! Dean said it had been there forever and was to lazy to remove it so the just built over it.... we did look it over and it had been picked clean nothin that coule be saved
if i can remember when i there again ill try to take some pics

I'm the one with the yard everyone driving by gawks at, lol. I'm sure it's the one the neighbors all talk about, too. I'm in the country, but there is a house down the road with a few cars and trucks sitting behind their pole shed buried in the gr***, brush, and trees. Someday I plan on stopping just to BS and see what's there. They also have a late 60's F100 that has garnered my interest (one of two visible from the road). The neighbor to them closer to me has a Dodge Daytona turbo-z sitting next to his barn, and a '67 GTX.

About 1/2 mile down the road a guy I know has a CHERRY '36 5/w coupe that he's gonna finish restoring some day.
Ya, I asked, he said he'll never sell it, his son will get it first.

Well- I'm not in the country so there's not much yard art around. There are some stashed rides in garages though.
There's a T bucket in the garage behind me w/ a tunnel rammed SBC. Very 70's build & probably hasn't moved since then. Good thing for him I'm not that fond of T buckets.

We have lots of finished hot rods, street rods, cl***ics, muscle cars within 5 miles of me. Waaay too many to list!

There about 4 or 5 49-54 Chevys around the area of my house here. I have a 57 Chevy in the driveway. My brother has a 32 Ford 5W Coupe project in his garage about 3 blocks from here. Several 47 1st-55 1st Chevy pickups, several more 55-59 Chevy pickups, a handful of 61-66 Ford pickups. Several hot rods from 40 Ford Coupes to Model As and even a Chevy or 2. If the guy hasn't moved, a 51 Merc custom.

Pasadena, Deer Park, La Porte, and South Houston on the SE side of Houston have always had a large rodder and restorer population.

    Lol, I guess I did.

More oddly, is the guy still keeps it beside his barn. Now who would do that?
