Thank you to all the people who came out for lunch today! Way more people then we expected, the weather was great, the food was great. Everyone seemed like they were having a great time, I know I did. I picked up my new beater truck the night before, and headed down with the Edmonton group this morning. We made good time, and managed to stay together as a group (right till the end, when i apperantly "left Lee for dead")

You'll have to wait till monday for my photos, I'm out at the farm for the rest of the weekend.

    Thanks again everyone!

Lots of cool cars. That diner rocks. I'm sorry I didn't know about it sooner. I'll have to start having lunch there.
My 2 year old was hyper, and I just had my wisdom teeth pulled (talking hurts), so I didn't stick around too long, but it was cool to see everyone ride. Hopefully we'll be able to do it again.

Cool rides and great people; didn't get to many words in, listenen and seing what and how is going on! My wife was pumped on Goerge/Gavins AV8...Graham, she likes yer truck too:D
Thanks to those that were involved in setting it up, good job and fantastic location (unless someone has a track we could use for next time??).
My loss for not getting to meet all or stay very long.
    Greg.

  9. Wow that was awesome!!!! Today was one of the best days I have had in a long time!!!
Thanks to all that came out, and Graham for setting it up at the diner!!!
My coupe made it down okay, had a bit of miss but still made it, 10 minutes after we left to come back to Edmonton I finally figured out what was causing the miss and it ran back at 60mph with no other problems!!
I ended up putting over 400km on the 4 banger today and was cruising it from 8:30am until 11:30pm!!!

I was VERY impressed with turn out and quality of cars that showed up. I could have spent all day and night there talking with everyone. Every car I seen there I would classify as a Traditional Hot Rod or Kustom. Even mikes T coupe. I dont know what they were talking about on vintage rods about mikes T being the anti-christ of the hamb, That car was bad ass!
Gavin and George's roadtser was very cool as well. And that guy with the T speedster!!!! Wow!

Anyways, thanks again everyone, I would say we are definetly on the right track now and have succesfully "pulled our socks up"!!! Now lets make sure they stay up. Who wants to help plan another event? I know I am defeitly up for setting another one up, and I'm sure Graham is as well!!!!

Thanks Lee for kicking us all in the ass. It was a great rip down there. More importantly got to meet some like minded car people.

  18. I can't believe I didn't see this post till Sunday the 13th! Considering I was driving through Red Deer on my way back from Calgary on Saturday anyway...I guess I have to start coming on here more than once a month. Looked like fun hopefully there'll be more like these...especially cause my '50 DeSoto will be back on the road next year. Thanks for the pics.

I was very impressed by the entire day. No one had an over inflated ego, everyone was very friendly and no one even teased me that I showed up in a modern vehicle. I wish that all automotive gatherings were that easy going.

  23. Looks like a fun time. Wish I could have made it.

  24. It was a GREAT time, thanks again to Lee for kicking this into gear and Scott for having such a cool diner and attitude. Coming from Calgary it was the farthest away from home my '50 had been under my foot and the 216 cruised along at 55-60mph no worries.

I've got some pics I'll get up tonight when I get home. It was great to meet alot of the people I see on here. And a great bunch of guys.

You hit the nail on the head, selohssa. I'm not new to cars but I'm new to the scene here in Alberta, and I'm damn impressed. Thanks to everyone for a great event, and I had a great time cruising up with Peter, Keith, and Terry.

Let's not let that be the last one.

I just started using the site, have only seen one of these cars in Edmonton. I have been driving my traditional 37 ford (dark green) all summer and never come across anyone.... I thought I was the only one, haha.
