TV Cable Corrector

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by 345 DeSoto, Sep 13, 2009.

  1. Has anybody used/had experience with the Sonnax AS3-03K TV Cable corrector on an edelbrock carb? I've been reading everything I can on how to properly set up the TV cable on my Carter Compe***ion series AFB, and came across this item. I do NOT want to lunch my 200-4R because of the seemingly critical cable end position and travel adjustment . And where is the cheapest place to find one of these? Thanks, guys...

after reading about the "short spring condition" on their site.. I decided to give their kit a try..

it might have been hype.. but at the time it seemed to make sense.. and.. they had a kit specifically for the proflow I am running

the kit I have required that i drop the pan to install. (which was easy since i had a fresh trans.. )

i should close in on 1500 miles on the car this week.. so far no trans issues..

  3. i used one on an edelbrock 1405 with a 700R4 , i got it from my local ****** shop. i had never heard of Sonnax before either..my understanding now is that they are a big aftermarket supplier of ****** rebuilding parts

to be honest, i could not tell any difference between before and after installing it

  4. 36-3WINDOW - Did you use one of the holes in the 1405 throttle linkage for the TV cable stud (before you put that corrector on) or did you drill another hole for it? The reason I ask is because I'm using a pair of 4761 Carter Compe***ion Series carbs, and the throttle linkage isn't anything like the 1400 or 9000 series carbs. There is, however, a hole in my linkage that appears to be just in the right spot to mount a TV cable stud. The first picture shows where the hole is, and the second on shows the stud installed...

i use the holley TV cable corector on my spread bore carb with a 200-r4 trans. it is not that expensive of a part but i have also used a set of replacments studs and just drilled a hole in the throttle arm of the carb. as long as you dont have the cable binding up and it is at least 90% of the way extende at full throttle you should not have any promblems. i have put 43K any my trans after rebuild and not had any major problems. given i dont drive mine that hard but i have done a few red light drag races.

  8. it's been awhile , but if i recall correctly it bolted directly to the Edelbrock carb...no hole drilling needed

Buy a gauge to hook up to the driver's side pressure port regardless of what you do. Verify proper pressure rise with any non-stock setup. Don't just buy somebody's kit and ***ume you'll be OK.

    Good luck
