Waiting on a claims adjuster to return from vacation, state a decision on our totalled daily driver, my wife & I window shopped a local mid 60s Nova today. Needs some work of course, but for a 6 cyl could be a good daily driver. Last night over drinks & a live band we blueprinted a low buck gasser. I got excited that she was into it. Then she said things like "badass rake" and "Pop's got a spare set of SS hubcaps from his Nova. We compared notes:
Half the fun is debating on somethin we may or may not get in time, or at all. But I love her enthusiasm, and teaching her new terms or sides to hot rods she mightve not known or been into before. Been trying to find the right photos to illustrate it. Nothin too crazy for a streetable gasser, Halibrands or Torque Flites to give it a 60s feel. Yeah I know I'm nuts, being so close to puttin the custom Chrysler on the road again as - now, due to us having one legal running driver - a second driver, its mysterious brake troubles goin a bit deeper than I'd hoped, at least the rest of it is ready to roll. But when Winter hits, I'm not gonna be so anxious to roll out that custom. Anyway, got any pics of inspiration, streetable gasser Novas & such? Havin fun with it anyway, wanted to share.
Too me deciding how you are going to build one is the one of the highlights of the build. Its the part of the build that doesn't cost anything.
