Thanks for the AWESOME pictures. I wish I had found out about that It would have been a blast. How did you find out about it? I am building a 1950 Ford 2 Dr Sedan and wanting to chop it also and would have love to have been there working on that car with all those people. What a great experience! Thanks again.

I got tired just looking through all those pics. Can't imagine has much work it was to put it all together... Thanks!

  6. I didn't work today because I was so tired!! I didn't even do much while in Canada except take pictures. I think he is an alien and ****s the energy from everyone around him!!!! LOL!! I am still dumbfounded? I can't figure it out 82? He should be studied by the medical industry to find out why he isn't hurting and has so much energy. If I could only have half the energy of the man, I'd sure have to keep projects coming as all mine that I have now would be done in about a month. I don't think the way I'm going, I will ever get half of mine done in my lifetime.
Also I do feel very lucky as not many people have spent 4 full days with this legend. Never mind see'ing his marathon painting session. It was a great booth that had a full floor downdraft and a heat cycle that would heat it to 140 in minutes. While he was spraying I was in the paintbooth taking the pictures . I hardly could smell the paint!!! I stayed in for just a few seconds at a time as I had no resperator.

Imagine being Martin or Frank actually spraying with Gene!!!! I bet Ken and Frank are very tired trying to keep up with Gene for the week they were with him!!!
Wake up Ken!!!! Its all just a dream and now you have to go back to work serving Hambergers at Mc Donalds!! LOL!!! All kidding aside, you live the life my friend!!

    Yep!

    Gene is the greatest!!!!!

And you've really done a great job in capturing some of his magic for history!

When you've recuperated enough, maybe you can add some more comments to the painting pix, just splainin a little more of what he was doing, and waiting times and such!

Thanks for sharing this amazing experience.......I guess Gene would say "its no big deal....we just painted a car".......but WOW!

Great Post looks like a great time and learning experience! Johnny Hotrod when do we get to see the car unwrapped?

  17. Man it was one of the best 5 days I have ever had. My brother is/ was into Musclecars only but liked hotrod and now he's talking about building a hotrod after the 1967 BB Chevelle!!!! He's coming over to the dark side!!!! LOL!!!
Johnny, take some pictures of your car in the sun and post them on this post.
For those that don't know me, I cannot take more pictures of Jonny's car or Mikes car as I'm across the border about 100 miles.
I think meeting Frank, Ken, Doug, Steve, Gereth( Well maybe not Gereth) kidding, Johnny, Mikey and all the rest of the gang was also part of the great experience. You people became me friends instantly. Thanks for the great experience and the great memories. Again, if any of you guys are down this way, feel free to stop in. I'm having a Thursday night Garage on the 22nd of October, and usually about 60+ friends come over. Its a cool deal. Lots of great craftsmen if any of you are interested. You guys are always welcome!!!
I think today, I am just coming down from my high from the 5 days of go go go go go and more go!!!!
