Hello to everyone, just stumbled across the board searching the best way to stop my dipstick from leaking... Anyway, cool site. I'm military currently in Kansas. I've been working on a 57 4 door I picked up after coming back from overseas. I've done all the mechanical and electrical now I'll be trying my hand at interior and paint and body... here's how she looks now. There have been a few updates since these were taken but you get the idea.

Came as a kit from CPP, I think it's all based on '70s 'vette stuff. I could be wrong my memory fails me.

Haha. I'm assuming it's leaking at the block. they are a press fit into the block. if it flanges into the pan you might epoxy it or solder up the inside.
Anywhere the dipstick presses into something you can clean it up and the hole with brakecleaner or carb cleaner and epoxy the tube in.
When it comes time to pull the tube out a modest amount of heat from a propane torch will break down the epoxy.
If the engine is puking oil out the top of the dipstick you either have too much oil in the engine, too much blowby from weak rings, or a blocked pcv valve or road draft vent.
My dad's 302 didn't smoke at all but had blowby so bad from the compression rings being weak that it would soak the air filter with oil and puke out the dipstick.
