Haha...Kind of a turnaround on bragging rights there, wasn't it? I heard Lucas actually gave Harrison Ford the "fastest ship in the galaxy" because he lost the race in Graffiti...
ever notice the types that make the best cops, or the best tech inspectors?....hahaha As for me...I dont know...I love 32's, and i love Falfas 55, off to watch the race scenes haha
I've had virtually every GM 2 door sedan made between 55 and 57. My main ride now is a 55 Olds 2 door sedan which I can't imagine ever giving up. But John's yellow coupe was the leading image of the movie and my pick.
{HEAVY BREATHING}{HEAVY CHEVY BREATHING}......LUKE i mean ....MILNER I AM YOUR FAATHER....{HEAVY BREATHING}
You have to ask? Hey, it's the "Bitchinist car in the valley"! I don't like a car just because it's faster, if it really was. If the '55 was a hardtop, maybe. I like the '58 Impala better than the '55. As you con see by my avatar I already have a '55, actually 2
I have to go with the 32. Would have been a little more intresting if Milner had a 392 with 6 97's in the coupe. Not to mention it would have looked cooler!
Plus Ford in a Chevy (is that right?) had his cowboy hat on so there couldn't have been anyone faster or cooler in three states (or Galaxies who Ford made). And he punched cool (Billy D. Williams) in the face, so he was so far beyond it you couldn't even see him when he went in to hyper space or swinging from a vine, which makes any car he drove priceless...
He talked Lucas into wearing the cowbow hat so he didnt have to get a haircut. I will always love the 32. There is part of a scene where the 32 stops short, and the windshield kinda swings out, too cool. I dont know why I thought that ruled.
shit i guess if i could have one of them then i may as well just get them both. i really like both but will take milners' car
Milners coupe is the ugliest, most horrid 32 5w i have ever seen, and the fact people build clones of it dismays me completely. so, to answer your question..Falfa's 55. and i Hate tri five chevs.
The Coupe..for me, IT made the movie,even being piss-Yellow and that poorly done grille..Just imagine if Milner had been in the 55 cruisin all night...movie would not have been the same..
we kinda had both. my son bought a 55 utility sedan, with wheel cutouts just like Falfa,s and I have duece 2dr. {which he is coveting] He put a 400cu sbc from a teachers stationwagon that she donated to the high school auto shop. could lay some serious rubber. But some dildo came down the fwy offramp and couldnt stop, and buckled the 55 bad.
The '32 is what brought me away from muscle cars and to Hot Rods. So I'd go with it. But when I watched the movie a while back, I did realize it is sort of an odd looking '32 no doubt. But I think the amatuerish look it has kinda makes the movie feel more authentic. The 55 was more sinister however, and would've out ran the '32 in the long run.
