Found a guy with this little Ford, He likes Oldsmobiles and I like Fords so he now owns my Olds bubbletop and I have his 52 Ford. I'm all jazzed, I'm the type of guy once I have a car awhile I want to sell it and play with something new. Once I got it here from Colorado and started playing/ driving it this thing is a sweet little car. Solid, rust free, great running 47,000 mile car. Lowered the right way, rides great! Plans are 54 buick side trim, frenched 56 Olds taillights, some type of grill change (suggestions???). Not sure of a color yet but for sure not the Grandpa tan it is now! For a bonas, the bumpers and all the interior garnish are still wrapped in paper from the chrome shop ($$$). As much as I like flatheads I'm not that fond of them in this "new" and big of a car, might swap in my spare Y-block. Not sure, the flatty runs soooo good. Sure I could find a good home for it if I did pull it though;).

dude.....I know you like y blocks....I get that....I do too...

HOWEVER, break from the norm on your Y-block fetish JUST once...and full dress that thing out....Its already cool as hell, and I'm sure you'll have something up your sleeve with it.

For some odd reason I've been wanting a flatty latly...and quite honestly am living vicariously through you at this time...lemme know when you getter rollin, I tell my pops to swing by a show (your at) to check it out...

Hey Salty, my flathead fetish is outdoing the y-block these days! I'd be breaking my norm to pull the flatty!
Still up in the air, dress the flathead or swap a y-block.
Kustomline, the colored primer is just spots of 2K over the old biege paint, kinda blends well!

some type of grill change (suggestions???)

how about Plymouth Savoy of the same vintage....you would have to use the wrap around spear on the front fenders....would be a change of the usual 54 Buick trim.....

    Hey,

    That's one hot lookin '52!

I'll have you know, that that colour is NOT "Grampa Tan" but is known by the name of "Collision Beigh" , and I have the pattent on it!

I've had an itch to section about 4''-5'' out of one of those. It's a good thing the one here, locally, is going for too much money!

Please don't put an early DeSoto or Corvette grille in your new Ford.

I second some of what was said here. Try the Plymouth Savoy grill (56) and leave the flatty in the car. Nice trade.

Yeah, I like the idea of a Plymouth grill. Finally found pics of my old 54 I had back in the early 90's, I want to build this 52 along the same lines. I didn't build the 54 (some of you might recognise it, it was the KKOA give away car in 1990), I traded for it and always liked the look but the car was really a piece of sh** so I didn't keep it long. The idea is one like my 54 but built right!

Sometimes things seem too easy. First I scored a nos pair of 56 Olds taillights at a swap meet weekend before last and then last weekend I went grill shopping at the junkyard and darn if they didn't have a 55 Plymouth with a nice grill still in it! Guess it's getting a Plymouth grill. Same junkyard had a pair of 55 Pontiacs with nice side trim, thinking about going back and getting a set to use instead of the 54 Buick trim.
