Fords didn't have a four-speed until the '62 models. My dad's parts manager had a bad black Fairlane two door post with a hi-po 390/three speed with overdrive. Very cool.

  10. nice lookin' car. what color is that? (besides just "SILVER") man is that new gl***? its just soooo clear..............

  11. Choprods, I know a guy that has/had a 60 Starliner,may still have it.
Bottom half was rotted away, he was hanging on to it incase he found somthing that the top would look cool on.

The 60 had a different back gl*** than the 61, I don't know what Scarliner is looking for but if it's a 60 top I will try to get ahold of the guy for you. The car is located in Lubbock TX if he's still got it.

a54studebaker, thanks for the offer on the 60,but I am looking for a 61 starliner roof, I have an ideal, and its not normal! The reason I am looking for a 61 is the windshield height is lower than a 60,and the back gl*** in a 60 has the curves at the bottom edges,to match the fins, and a 61 does not.I dont want to destroy a good or buildable car,a basket case with a good roof will do.I should buy that 60 for parts for my 60 starliner, these cars are getting tough to find in any condition. If he still has it,and will give you a price, let me know.If anyone reads this and has a rough 61 starliner, please p.m. me.Thanks.

Marcus, that 61 has just the right stance, and that color looks much better than I thought it would on one of those cars.Really like it,nice car!

Got a long way to go...

it's not an xl but it is a 390 car and was already converted to 4speed. The frame has a m***ive 600 or a thousand pound looking x member out of 1/4" thick I-beam.
I don't know if it's going to drive worth a dang or not. I was thinking of building a new frame out of a coup or 4dr ch***is and setting it up with trailing arm nascar suspension for better handling and to keep torque reaction and twist under control.
Far as originality goes, it's still not special enough to build to someone else's taste. I hate working on other people's cars maybe I should stay away from building other peoples cars out of my stuff.
    Prolly going custom
    Maybe use the monterrey grill?
I was thinking some plastic surgery on the bumpers to tuck them in with the body lines better would look cool

There is nothing nicer then a 61 Starliner.

Mine is Z Code 390 with 3 speed on the column, red and white NOS interior and exterior trim.

I didn't realize there was a Starliner in 61 AND I didn't realize you could post on the HAMB as a "guest". Marcus and Starlinerguy, beautiful cars by the way!

It's a good day, I learned me something.
