Hey Thanx guys!! If we can inspire somebody then we've done good!!:) One of the reasons i like to share tech stuff with pics is I know it will be helpful to somebody else chopping a shoebox or any other car. I have a folder FULL of shoebox threads that i saved for this chop, That's how i was able to pull this one of!!

But let's be real too, we ALL love a little " HEY GREAT WORK!!":)

Thanx again guys!! I think most people can do this, it's all about thinking and thinking and thinking some more before cutting , the better the fit , the better the results. And paper patterns, if they suck make a new one until perfect!! I'm no pro, but it seems to work for me!!

    Ian,
Being anal is a good thing... from your customer's point of view. You carry that extra burden of making every detail right. Perfection may be a curse in many ways, but that's what people expect, even if they are not paying for it. Whatever your going shop rate is now, raise it, because your talents and mindset deserve it.

I applaud your friend for recognizing your hidden talent for chopping tops. I'm sure the condition of your garage was a big clue. I wished that you lived closer, I need a wedge-section on my shoebox woodie.

HAHA!! I truly appreciate all the compliments, that's what keeps me motivated for sure! I'm not in a club, I don't have a bunch of friends stopping by, so this place is where i get my motivation. And i'm certainly not full of myself!!:)
