1932 Ford Chopped Hot Rod Sedan Update- IT RUNS!!!!!!!

great looking sedan,chop looks great,wife and kid's been trying to get me to chop mine for some time,after seeing yours i might seriously think about it.

 

I stretched and pin tacked it down. I did not heat it. I did let it sit outside before I started. I believe it was a cool summer day, only about 106-107. My hands were bleeding from pulling on the material. I don't know if that was because I was pulling hard or I am just a sissy. Time will tell if it is tight enough.

I like your car the way it is. For some odd reason I don't really like full fendered sedans with the top chopped. Fenderless look better chopped though. I know, strange.

Extra bed room is all ready for you if you make it. Pops will be showing his just finshed 32 roadster at the show for it first outing so you should follow each other up.

 

Is he going to drive it? I am going to try to start mine for the first time today.

Well, after working all day on odds and ends with this engine, I have a problem with the starter. I am getting power to it but it doesn't even try to start. That's enough for today. I will pull the starter next day off and have it checked. No one ever said this stuff was easy.

I think that is the plan or trailer it up and then drive it since he just got it running a few days ago. Trying to get some pics too put up here on the HAMB.

 

For the first time in its hot rod life, the sedan runs. Now it's time to adjust everything. One step closer!!!!!!!

The car looks great Mike..... After seing it I wanted to go right to the shop and work on the RPU... The kids said "NO!" LOL.....

 

The paint is Hot Rod Flatz Maroon. It is a nice color. No too bold.

I make tack strips for 32s if anyone is interested.Any model,its out of ecstruded aluminum but looks like an original and easier to work with.

As far as I know the company is Hot Rod Flatz. I got it at a small paint shop here in Tucson. You can do a search and find it on line. Here on the HAMB, people have mixed reactions about it. It worked fine for me.
