Today was the annual "Route 66 Hillclimb" for 4-bangers, pre-1935, held at the entrance to Cajon Pass in Devore, just north of San Bernardino in Southern California...
Its a timed course of just over 500 feet...
It was a very nice day, blue skies, warm, not hot...perfecto

WOW! Now we know were most of the Riley 4Ports are! Great coverage, reminds me of the old Shell Hill hillclimb coverage from years ago. I'd like to have that Dayton wheeled T Coupe with the #14 sprinter on a trailer behind it.

Looks like a fun event, refreshing to see something completely different than we see around here.

More than a few great things to look at!

Thanks for giving us all a shot at "being" at an event such as this.

It is really cool to see the pics that some of you guys take the time to post up, and sometimes it just makes my day to check out pics from great events that simply cannot be attended for whatever reason.

    Great pics! Nice cars!

Wow - great stuff. I love the cars and your coverage.

Too bad spectators aren't allowed past the "Start Line." Coverage of some of the European hill climbs show crowds having a great time hill side.

Unlike the grassy hillsides of Goodwood, these hillsides are covered in dried thistles and brush. Not the ideal spot for a picnic. :D:D:rolleyes:

I missed this but I do see some familiar faces there. I was selling /giving all my T parts to some of them oldtimers.
Should have gone, but had an even better day cruising with the missus along Mulholland and LA in my coupe. Watched sunset at the Observatory and headed home. A tank of gas well used.:)

  29. Thanks for the coverage, some nice "Bangers".

Great pics Mazooma and CrazyDaddyO. Doug it's good to hear your back surgery went well. Man those banger guys are pretty serious. That Riley Special is perfect. My favorite though is this silver/blue T roadster on the red frame. What a time warp! If it wasn't for the late model vehicles in that photo, it looks like an old Andy Southard shot. I'll take it!
