A huge thanks to MarkX for the pro paint help. This guy knows his ****! Thanks to fltblk and my wife Kirstie & K&R for laying out the scallops. And thanks to Merc50, Elrod, Honest, 67Imp.Wagon, and Flexicoker for the backup help with all of this.

MarkX is the master painter. He mixed the exact faded 57 belair paint to a tee. How did he do it? Just by looking at it and adding on color or another. Came out great!

It all started so simply...

It had to be done on both sides so Tyler (fltblk) took that job...

MarkX not only did the spraying, but put the tape down for the scallops on the deck lid and the hood...

Things got a bit hostile and we think that Tyler may have sabotaged the driver side after this incident

After all the drama Mark finally was able to start painting. The respirator he used was primitive, but useful!

In the end it came out really well. Monster if you are looking your design came out the winner. Slightly modified...

Last time it wasn't my car! The only open container in my car tonight was a bottle of water.

Dammit! I really wanted to be there. After Byron called I really almost jumped in the truck to drive over starting at 10pm. But then I figured I'd get there just in time to see everyone leave. Sorry I missed all the fun. You gonna make it to sherman?

K&R... You and Will have alot in common..Fidgiter.

by the way the scallops look great.

The rest of the story;

That respirator picture was staged, that was a wipe down
rag covered in thinner, I'm surprised Mark didn't p*** out.

As far as sabatoge goes, I made that reference mark after I
hit my head on the shelf. At least that's my story. Do
you have a picture of the drivers side yet?

Thanks, I had fun and still owe you pizza money.

looks good, you should see it on this junk monitor at work I'm using, the color is all distorted and it looks like a green and yellow winfield fade job!

Just noticed how well that center scallop on the decklid matches the centers of the seats.

So, OCP,

Does your wife call it a "bonnet" and a "boot" or is that strictly an English thing?

When I was in Melbourne, the riggers tried to tear up this giant crate we ship the visuals in by ramming it with their crane.

The crate flipped over onto my rental, Toyota or something.

I just laughed and went back to work.

Came back out later and they had the bodywork done and were trying to match the paint.

Bizzaro indeed. I was just going to drop it at a mall and report it stolen. [IMG]

Cool people.

A dude I work with just turned down an offer to work over there for a year at some rediculous salary. Single dude and all.

Yeah! I smacked him on the back of the head!

My favorite part was watching MarkX mix a $6 can of White Rustoleum primer, and a $2.99 can of paint thinner, and then dump it into his $500 spray gun!!
