    sorry if i mis-spelled ralley...rallye...rallay...aw screw it

at first i was going to spring for new steel rims, but i saw a car in town with the same camaro/chevelle kinda slot type rallye wheels that i have and he was running a beuty ring and a smooth style traditional center cap/hub cap. not only could you barely tell what type of rims they were, it actually looked really good (i think it was a late 30's olds sedan). i was curious which hub caps would work. they look like they'd pop into the center or something...heres a pic of the rim im talking about. what do you think will work.

sell the wheels to a muscle geek and get something better.

or run a full hubcap and nobody will know whats under them, kinda like when you got on your lacy underoos at work.

They are called "police style smoothie" or something like that. Go to Coker tires web site and I think he has the center caps.

They look good on street rods and muscle cars but not really a traditional style of wheel to use. Go with a smoothie style wheel or just a plain steel wheel with trim rings and baby moons.

  8. i have rallys on my '60 elco, they were cheap 15x7 at the wrecking yard ($5 ea) in '91.......of course you can't see that under the moon caps :).

HEI's and Camaro clips aren't traditional either, but no one *****es about those. Anyway, to answer your question, I got mine from The Early Wheel Company, but I am sure that Jimmy at Rally America Wheels could help you out.

Police car/Taxicab hubcaps, a simple dog dish with a couple concentric circles and a small bowtie.

the amount of hatred for rally wheels is directly proportional to the length of the cuffs on your pants and the chain on your wallet.

Moon Discs are NOT street attire for cars, they are reserved for race cars that actually NEED them...putting those on a car to hide your ****ty rally wheels isn't a viable option...stop putting Moon Discs on street cars you buffoons...

Man some people just have to be ***holes when its unnecessary in the convenience of their own home.
As lostn51 said there are the Police/Taxi style smoothie ones. I will add the disc brake ones dont look that bad either, stay away from the derby style ones and dont paint them red please..

better tell them all to ditch the lakes pipes, and make sure they all put the fenders back on too... only reason to go fenderless is to make the car lighter for lakes racing

I got so sick of ralleyes (ran them for 15 years on this car), I took them OFF my chevelle about 6 years ago and went with plain old steelies. You should too. ESPECIALLY on anything pre-1964.

I run a pair on my 56 F-100. Summit sells baby moons and I used thin rings with them and painted the rims dark grey. I would rather have a different pair, but used what I had.

What are they going on? Might have sumthin for ya...PM me.

I agree that being a rally wheel hater is counter to what the guy was askin. He's not doing YOUR car, he's doing his. I have em on my 61, 15X7s in the front and 15X8s in the rear. I'll keep em even after the final wheel goes on since there's just something kinda 'tuff' about that size and combination. Might be some of my muscle car past comin out...
