  7. Thanks - yes we have some restrictions alright - getting harder by the day to build these cars down here!

Thanks Al, great to hear from you - stay in touch.

No rest for the wicked they say!

Thanks Rod - have some time clear this week to make some more progress

    Will do

    Ha! I am digging that!

    Sure! - Later this week

Hey Chuck, should be worth mentioning that the Cop Shop Coupe is one of my favorites and I want to do a roadster version one day!

Yep thats Steves - I am just storing it

Thanks Kev - probably Dore yellow!

  8. I fabricated the motor mounts utilising the HURST mount I have and then tacked em on and blew the chassis apart and turned it over and mounted the front end after spinning up some threaded inserts that recess into the frame for the hairpins

  13. Thanks guys
We had a shed tour last week with the hot rod club calling by so I got it all back together on wheels
Next up is to do the shock mounts and mount the headlights and then do the rear end and then run the exhaust and mount the steering

  14. Well whilst making progress on my T, I have been awaiting the tyres for my Deuce project.
    They arrived last week

The Hoosier pro street radials - 31x12.5x16 - Thanks CopShopCoupe - Chuck helped determine sizes close to an original dirt tracker

And for my "other" set of wheels - 8.90X16 dirt track rears and 5.00X16 ribbed fronts

  17. Just some 16" solids with the rears widened to 7"

Thanks. Progress is steady and I plan to pick up a glass roadster body in a couple of weeks

  18. The fibreglass body arrived this week
One day and I am about a third of the way thru steeling it out

Nice Roadster. What sort of build/registration restrictions are there in NZ? Do you have to be 'creative' to get round the rules?

  20. Thanks, its not too bad over here. We have an association called the Low Volume Vehicle Technical Association that works with the government and they have developed what is called The Hobby Car Manual to inform builders of steering, braking and general land transport requirements etc

Thanks. Things have been tightening up over here recently, mainly I think because everything to do with our transport ministry is being computerised (and the EU control freaks are trying to inflict their standards on everyone, but that's another story...)

True traditional builds aren't too much of a problem if you are using an unmodified stock chassis, suspension and axles, but get a bit silly as soon as you modify the chassis - stick a big block Chevy in an otherwise stock Model A and it would be legal (although undrivable :)), but box the chassis and fit suitable axles and steering and you're stuck in a different class which requires all sorts of non-traditional-friendly hoops to jump through.

  22. I am about half way through the steeling out of the body and about to start on the cowl area
To help the fibreglass cure I rolled it outside the other day and grabbed these shots

Neat hot rod. Please keep us updated.

  26. Dropped the chassis horns down a tad and massaged them a little - now onto a new spreader bar and also shock/headlight mounts.
