Has anyone ever seen a blower on the small flatmotor? I have a drop tank and I'm thinking of building a 60 powered lakester for grins and giggles, you know the proverbial "bucket list" item. It just occurred to me that a huffed small flathead would be kinda trick. If blowing a big flathead is good, would there be any advantages to a blown small one? I'm thinking it might be some kind of home-made unit unless there is such a thing out there for the rice rockets. Just brain-storming?????????????
We just go one in up at Latimore. V8-60 with a prewar Maserati blower and two two's on top.Skinny little chain drive. I've been meaning to take a camera up and get some photos of it to post.
Thanks for the pics and info. I was talking to a friend last night and he mentioned those old small bodied Weiand blowers that I think were seen in the '60's or '70's might be a consideration. Like I said, kind of a pipe dream at this stage.
Some of those Magnachargers were little. B&M made a blower to put on the 2.2 Chrysler 4 cylinder motor. My boss put one on his Corviar and thought it was fine. Plenty of blowers made for 2 and 3 liter motors in junkyards today. Eaton blowers come stock on Pic Your Part products. Look around.
There was a '33 Willys, green I think, in the mags a few years back that had a 3-71 blown V860 and a T5 in it. Absolutely there's the same advantage as blowing a full-size flatty...won't be cheap.
