Nostalgia drags-KCIR

Musclecar reunion and nostalgia drags at KCIR this weekend. This was my 3rd year attending, and this year has been the biggest I've seen yet as far as car/people count. What a great time. It has re-lit my candle, I've got to get our wagon done to participate in it next year.
The announcer noted that the inline 6 dragsters were HAMB'ers, please forgive my lack of knowledge about which HAMB'ers they are, but to them, the geezers g***ers, one team with a slick 6 banger ford dragster with a cleveland head cut into 3 pcs. to bolt to the inline 6'er(it was bad ***), all the 60's and 70's nitro floppers, and of course Big daddy-thank you. You made my weekend. Can't wait 'til next year.

garlits was there and so was TC Lemons , big's old crew chief . one hell of a nice guy and he had a million stories.

 

As we were leaving(after garlits' did an exhibition burnout in the old FED), the tower announced there was a party in Don's pit area. Really wanted to stay but had to leave. I plan on participating next year if I get a move on this wagon. Camping out all weekend with all the great racers from past and present-my kind of weekend.

 

I heard that has always been a good show. Do they have a link to get info on future shows? Bob

 

Is this an NHRA track?

 

I just looked it up and it is. That means a ch***is cert and that aint gonna happen with mine. :-/
