Ok, I have a thing for Olds engines in trucks, it doesn't matter if it's a 303 or a 455...Just post up your pics of your favorite Olds motivated hauler.. Thanks, Bobby P.S. I'd post pics of my '94 Chevy with a 425, but she's not HAMB freindly, and not worthy of photos yet..)
Well, not really a hauler, but it should haul ass I finally just got it running last week! If you want to hear it, go to the bottom of the page here, I did a YouTube thing-a-ma-bob: http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=352119&page=6 Cool thread, I heart the Olds Dan
Looks like a 425/455? Judging from the red paint... Hey at least it's not a 350 diesel... That is bad ass... Are those Offy Valve covers?
Yes, It's a 425 Starfire from '65. And it will be Red/orange again ;-) I'm also looking for a pair of these Offy Valve Covers, if somebody wants to sell ;-) And yes, I'd love to see pics of your Olds powered Chevy!!!
The nicest thing about the late '70s/early '80s 5.7 diesel powered Chevy trucks was than an Olds gas V8 was a 100 per cent bolt-in. The owner of a parts store I worked in 28 years ago had a loaded '80 Silverado with a 12 horsepower diesel in it; once it died for good, an Olds 455 went under the hood and made it a good truck.
Yeah, that's what I like about 'em too...except my trucks a '94 so I can't do that...But I'd trade it in a heart beat for '78 and up C10 2wd long box..
This is my '29 A ccpu, with a 215 Olds in it. Prolly not what you meant when you were looking for Olds powered trucks, but it qualifies, and "the little engine that could" gets the truck on down the road just fine. BTW, this is covered on another thread, but the "Markley Trucking" logo on the doors is in memory of recently passed "Pops" (Jim Markley), who sold me this truck 9 years ago. Lil' Toot did the lettering for me just 4 days ago.
