I will likely be moving to the greater Benton area pretty soon, I guess George ain't reallt going to like me much, none the less, Ark registration is cheap anyway, so I will forego the Antique plates, at least the law wont be on me about that, picture from George or not.

    :D

Looking at this thread again reminds me of a bit in "Smokey & The Bandit" where Buford tells the idiot son "When I get back home I am gonna punch your momma in the mouth" -

Surely, there are more pressing problems in Arkansas that this old gentleman could address? And don't call me Shirley. Has anyone actually pointed out he really should report himself?

it's funny, I just checked the dixie car club website (no got nothing better to do), and apparently they know so much about original cars that one of their members managed to have a '53 Buick Roadmaster with 3 portholes. must be a one-off Special? that's already one down on originality..

We got an interesting loop-hole on the antique tags here in Ky.

The law states "The car can be used for educational purposes"... Since I run a diesel engine on used vegetable oil, and advertise that fact via a bumper sticker directing people to a web site that "educates" people on running a diesel on veg-oil, I'm 100% legal... And I got a copy of the Judges order stating I'm legal. [yep, been there and done that... It helped that the Judge was a car guy] :D

"educational purposes" can also include using the car for taking your children to school, or yourself to college, and then using it to commute to work

I have to get involved in this, I understand the point with the POS cars having the antique plates, but not of us driving eighties cars are driving "pieces of ****" ,some of us have worked very hard on our cars, and we take care of them and maintain them. Laws like this guy is trying to propose telling you **** like what color your car is,are insane, Here in Georgia I'll get my 25 year plate automatically next year, I think I earned it ,I've spent the last decade working on this car, and it's got a ton of work in it, parts are not easy to find for these cars eithier, due to them not being popular, Yea the POS cars shouldn't get the plates, but it's not right to put down other peoples cars because of the year. Ok rant is over. as far as fighting the law, four letters SEMA.

I believe his shirt violates rules on displaying the American flag. Since he's Mr.Perfect and all, he should know that.

we need to keep this thread on topic about unfair laws aimed at our hobby, not turn it into a political debate. if this law sets a precedent it could be a disaster for everyone in the car hobby.

  25. maybe is states with street rod plates we need to get it changed to HOT ROD instead, seems more correct that way,for all concerned

Who is this egotistical old *******? My opinion is to boycott any and all clubs or functions he or any supporters of this idiot are members. There always seems to be one that comes to the forefront. I'll bet he is a little little man syndrome. Kind of like the mouse floating done the river with a woody yelling raise the draw bridge. Another ego out of control trying to inflict pain on the m***es,
