Thought you guys might want to follow along...Events/Pics from couple months back to present: - - THE SAGA BEGINS: (Back home in San Jo) Met up with Tony a while back at a show (haven't seen him in years...customer/buddy from way back in the 90's)...ask me to check out his '64. He wanted some patch work...I told him, this thing is pretty bad, so a full sand-blast was in order..... - - When it first arrived: - - - - - -
After removing the doors and stripping the firewall area, I built these quick door openning braces to reinforce the body before removing from chassis: - - - - - - Some cuts had to be made to remove the body...this thing is pretty bad...but repairable... - - - - -
- - Tony brought over his trailer, and I loaded it up for the next morning drop off: - - - - - - - Upon arrival at the Blaster, they carefully helped us out with their long forks: - -
Back with some "After-Blast" pics....these are little over 2 weeks old...just now getting around to post.... - - Media blasting doesn't remove bondo or rubber under-coating....too bad: - - - - - - - - All the rotted areas were just masked with glass or bondo....GHETTO !!! - -
- Like I said...wish all this would of come off: - - - - - - - - - Rack it's sitting on come thru floor: -
Had to man....even with a solid vert, to keep the body from buckling.....let alone this s#it hole !!!
