The AHRA is back in action. Lots of guys thought the AHRA was tops back in the day. I wish them all the luck. I would hope they see the nostalgia movement is alive and well. Check it out.

Maybe this is a sign that Bee Line can finally be revived. I can dream, can't I.

Would be nice to see something like the old AHRA around. I don't think it will ever be anywhere near what the NHRA is but there is a bunch of sportsman racers out there that are sick of the NHRA BS.

my dad beat don garlits at the 74 ahra winternationals alot of big names liked ahra

  9. We need something to replace the NHRA. As they move more to the pro ranks in an attempt to market themselves, they are throwing out the racers and fans that brought them to this point. I'd venture that the majority of drag racers do it "for the love" and not for the money. The NHRA no longer speaks for them.

We raced a few of there tracks back in the day, looking forward to their thoughts of class' for older rails? I have not been to NHRA track for over 20 years. Maybe this will bring back real class racing, with good heads up style.

I sent them an email. They responed, and said they are open to racer ideas for 2010.

  12. It's cool to hear they're back and I hope they are successful. Hopefully they will accept some input from the fans & the racers that are actually building the cars & spending the $$$. I can't imagine any way for the NHRA to make drag racing less entertaining.

If I remember correctly, I read a few years back, there was still 1 AHRA sanctioned track in operation......maybe in Washington State....I forget.

Just looking at their classes, it doesn't look like it has anything to do with grass roots, build it from the bottom, get racing off the streets:

    TOP FUEL
    FUNNY CAR
    PRO ALCOHOL DRAGSTER
    PRO ALCOHOL FUNNY CAR
    PRO STOCK
    PRO BIKE

yawn... They got a CEO and President. All they need now is a few multi-million sponsor dollars!

The CEO of AHRA's last name is "Moe." Y'all might want to investigate the name Orville "Moe" with Spokane Raceway.

They also list a full group of sportsman type classes too. If you read the website they want to be more grass roots

"AHRA has posted our competition classes for the 2010 season. You can view them under our web page “Classes”, listed on the header above. It is important to note at our 2010 “Reunion Tour” events, that the schedule will include many of these classes, but not necessarily all of them. AHRA will be adjusting to each market/ regional track in order to increase car counts and competition. This will also allow participants to have a competitive class without increasing expenses to the competitor. We encourage your input/ inquiry on this subject. Please submit your comments to info@ahradragracing.com."

Troy is the nephew of Orville Moe, who helped lead the push to oust Orville out of the Spokane Raceway
