Spent all day Sat selling at a friends spot at Englishtown. Was really disappointed at the stuff I saw & the lack of things people bought.

Instead of bringing a load of cool, fair priced car parts & related things, I should have brought lawn mowers, weed wackers, sweat socks & Michael Jackson t shirts.

Anyone have luck buying or sellin this weekend @ Englishtown?

What would possess people to buy used pistons? ( I am sure they were all only run for a few minutes )

Why would someone offer 200.00 for a new / rebuilt sbc trips set up that we were asking 650.00 for ? ( New Edelbrock intake, 3 clean working 94s, new air cleaners, new oil fill neck )

Why did I have to hard sell a NIB sbc Edelbrock intake for 80.00 ?

Why did everyone smell like cabbage?

    Thanks, rant over....

I always heard that Nitro but I figured that if I came in with cool stuff, people would buy it.

Well at least I had fun with my buddies, busting on people & hanging out. Better than the alternative of being home working the Honey-Do list.

Just would have been nice to take a few more bucks home.

Back in the 90's both Englishtown and Maple Grove swaps were just chock full of great hot rod and racing parts. Then came all the diecast **** and selling booth space to wives so they could sell their crafts and next thing ya know, the swaps are nothing but ****.Last time I went to or vended at them was about 1996 or so.

They aren't the only swap meet like this. The pisser is charging you to get in to look at peoples yard sale cast offs.

For years the E-Town swap has been a junk sale. It's a shame because it used to be pretty good. I think for the average working man, the Carlisle shows are still pretty good. I'm gonna hit Hershey this year for the first time in a few years. While it always seemed to me the prices at Hershey are a bit upscale compared to Carlisle, it is a show everybody's gotta go to at least once.

I noticed that about Turkey RR swap meet - too much crafts ****, I wondered why they let that garbage in, now I know.

I have seen that one progress from really cool vintage stuff to billet to any part of a camaro or 80's mustang you could want. I preferred Moultrie for some real finds.

  15. BigDaddy,
x2, and this time there were fewer vendors, shoppers, and much fewer cars at Sat car show. I go to hang out with friends, get some cardio walking, and maybe even find something to buy, tho it is a good place to buy supplies - low-reasonable prices + no shipping or tax. This is NOT a don't miss event.
