  1. I ran a set of Firestones purchased for $50 from a garage sale for the past two years with no trouble. God only knows how old they were when I got em, but they are piecrust models. This summer I ran them all the way to California and back 6000 plus miles with little trouble. Search the thread 6000 topless to see my slide show of it and the new tires. I wore out one tire due to a bent rim and replaced the back two tires while at Sacramento Ford. Forget the brand, but they ride great considering that they are bias plys.

Two things to keep in mind. As mentioned, the tires are only good for about 20,000 miles or so. Second, like any other piece of rubber, do not use it for more than five years. If I remember, the bitching about Coker was they wouldn't help replace a 9 year old tire that blew out. I don't blame them. Things get old and fail, no matter how they look. The bias tires I have had have been fine. I've gotten between 20K & 25K on all of them. And I drove the hell out of them so I never had to worry about issue #2.

And I have nothing but good things to say about Coker.

I have Firestone Deluxe Champion bias ply on my 49 ford with about 5000 miles on them with no trouble. They don't corner that well but with my tank really doesn't matter all that much.
