Back from the DragStrip tonight..........best of the night was a 11.02 @ 120.84 mph w/ a 1.5005 leaving off the foot brake.........It was real cool out tonight and the track was super greasy................My last pass I almost wrecked, but still ran a 12.44..........I went three out of five rounds tonight w/ them antique carbs....The track could not support my Truck and a few other cars tonight.....real dangerous..also learned I need to get a bottle warmer for the nitrous bottle.....It only had 650 psi because of the cold, I actually tried it tonight once at the top end but I did a few things wrong tonight for it to work in my favor...but learned allot......I did cut some wicked lights tonight.......Littleman

  4. A little Slippery there Sally?:eek::D

    Be safe there man!!!!!!

I would've been scared to hit the bottle on the top end... there's not alot of room for error!

Curious to see what the maximum will be with the "Giggle Gas" and an adhesive track.

Think you'd have better luck on a warmer day... at least you'd have traction and you can gas'r the whole quarter!

If you're talking about the red and blue standing out like a sore thumb, take a bowl and fill it with Mother's Chrome wheel cleaner (red spray bottle with some new sports car on it) soak the AN fittings in that. It'll take the anodizing off and strip em to bare aluminum. I did it with my car and they look great.

It was real slippery !!...........I hit the gas on the top end and had a smile on my face the whole time..eventhou it really did not work correct because I was dumping too much fuel and had low pressure...........Right know my nitrous jet size is squared w/ the nitrous fuel jet........I am going to ream out the Nitrous jets .002'' larger than the fuel side.........but the key is the bottle pressure.....it needs to be between 950 psi and 1,200 psi or so........mine was way too low tonight, but atleast I got past the point of hooking up the fuel line and setting the pressure and hit the button.........got my feet wet w/ a whole new regiment to learn, now it's time to play and learn....The 11.02 I ran tonight was all engine no gas..........Littleman

Well back from the Track again...........The new bottle heater worked well and I was able to maintain 900 psi tonight, so that is solved........Still have allot of work to do, it needs more passes to get sorted out...it is like starting all over again....But tonight was the first time I hit the button shortly after launch and rode it all the way down.......with not so much spectacular results....I had it way too safe on the main jets tonight for the weather conditions.....humidity was @ 81% track side..When I saw what the weather was last night on the news..I knew I was going to have trouble........The first time I tried it.......it went 11.86, but what I found interesting was the 123.73 mph it did.....that is the fastest mph to date for the Truck....but it was gargling on fuel all the way down.........The last pass for the night I did not hit the button and it ran a 11.15 in the thick air, but I cheated the fuel pressure to think it was jetted smaller and it worked.....Time to change jets and try again this Saturday and sunday.......So I learned even more, many thought I was nuts tonight to even try it with all them carbs.....but just wait.........I am going to get this to work...I will call this success tonight.... being able to drive it into the trailer and not having to winch it in and pick up parts off the ground....Littleman

    Later,Bill

  9. makes me wonder what would it have ran if you just pushed the button only at the top end? Great Mph for you...as I was sweating at kids baskeball practice I was thinking of you with the thick air and what the funny gas would do....

Just back from the Track......I went yesterday but it was a rain out, so while I was waiting for them to call the event...I went over my entire nitrous setup.....and found that I had problems on the fuel pressure side......I worked on it last night........

today it clicked off a 10.57 @ 126.95 mph.....and that is only scratching the surface w a 74.2 hp shot @ the rear wheels with my homemade 6x2 nitrous get up....finally...goodtimes, Littleman

It's the first time I was able to get the carbs and nitrous to work in concert.....Their are 24 jets to deal with...12 in the carbs and 12 in the nitrous setup...

Thanks !!!!.........I am real happy for the moment....we will see how close I can get to a 9.99....I think I might be able to run a 10.30 atleast...I really have made my goal, and that was to beat the 10.89 I ran last year..Littleman

Nice job, Dave. what tires are you doing these times on? Have you mapped the instant center in the car to see where it is? I hope to find my truck in the 11's somewhere and I am wondering what I am facing with traction and suspension setup.

The 60' that pass was 1.5088.......I have had quicker in the past.....I am just now starting to play...the problem is Fall is here in Ohio along with cooler temps and the rain....which means next to no track time........I really need to move !.........Littleman

Forgot to add.....the six two's need to be on the money to get a better 60'...they were good yesterday but can be better...it's kinda like hitting the lotto....

  21. Well it sounds like you're hitting the Little Lotto right now...!

Next year will be my test and tune season for the Roadster... I hope I can run respectable numbers like your truck because regardless of what I run... after next year... it's back to Street duty only.

Great progress. How are you activating the nitrous? How early in the pass? I still think it's good for as much as a full second improvement once the combo is sorted.

Dave, I have a momentary switch on the steering wheel I use on the left side, so the right side can shift....The 10.57 pass I hit it fairly soon after launch, and plan on hitting it sooner the next time.......after I enlarge the jets larger..he he......Littleman

The Truck is now set up for roughly a 95 hp shot for the weekend as of tonight..........I may need some one to follow me down the track w/ a shovel to pick up the rods this weekend...if not we ream them out bigger yet again Track side and go for it again........Littleman

I learn a lot from my in car camera, without it I would be way out of touch with whats really going on. I use the Flip Mino that Ryan posted a few months ago. That and a holder that mounts on my roll cage.

When I ran slot of spray I used NOS rpm activated switch,MSD timing retard, fuel pressure saftey switch and wide open throttle switch. I blew lots up before I figured everything out.

I will admit, I have none of that stuff.......so I am being as careful as one can be...I have a new regiment I go thru before and after a pass...I want to have all the goodies on the next car that hits the track thou...My system I made up is as bare bones as one can get......Littleman

Littleman, it was sunny and 92 degrees here in Texas yesterday. The local track closes for about two months. Plenty of track time...

Watch your fuel pressure gauge during your runs. I had a fuel pump go away on me and it cost me 8 pistons(collapsed) and blew the tips off 4 spark plugs.
