Finally spent some time in the garage, very limited time. Came home from work early which means I am not makin money and thought I would take avantage of the time and weather. I had to build an engine dolly for a flathead and trans outa my pick-emup. I have ta sell the truck and I figure I can hang on to the flatty. I grab some angle iron and some caster wheels I was savin just for sumthin like this. I make a simple square outa the iron , turn on the welder, Damn! outa gas. I shoulda remebered that. Gotta run, my valuable spare time is goin fast. I get home and fire up the welder and clean the helmet lens and drop it, Damn! again. Now I really gettin short on time, planned on makin the cart and removin the hardware in the truck so the motor is loose and ready ta go. This time I run to the local discount tool store and see what they have . I coughed up all could get my hands on and bought a solar powered auto-dark helmet for $ 49 bucks. I spent money I didnt have to spend, but I did get hame in time to weld a really crude engine dolly together. Now I will have an extra helmet in the garage so my son Donovan can learn to weld.

Now I need to sell the '50 p/u for about $50 bucks more. Hows $550 sound?

Now I still need to get the flatty loose and make some calls ta get some one ta come on over with an engine hoist. I know I should be out there instead of in here, I am hosting sleep over and I can't just the kids inside all alone.

If I had more talent I could probably make up the lack of time.

Don't feel bad -- if I had more talent I'd probably make more money, and then I'd just farm the work out, stay inside, have a beer!

Maybe take up building ships in bottles...
All it takes is a box of round toothpicks, a maple chair leg, black silk thread, some white, blue and black enamel, a can of window sash putty and, the biggest expense, a Pinch Scotch bottle! [IMG] [IMG] [IMG] [IMG]

    Hiboy,
I know what you're up to. You're laying the groundwork of excuses that you're gonna use in 8 months when I ask ya for that ride in your coupe and you say it's still under construction. I let it slide this year, but that ain't gonna cut it next year. And it ain't gonna cut it for Rocky not having a car either. You two ****ercups need to get together and help each other out. I'll be expecting progress pics every month between now and July.

That does sound like a very well thought out plan, doesn't it? I am selling the f-1 cause I need the cash in about 2 weeks and I will have room in the garage to get done with the coupe by july

Rocky, you sure you got the right kid there? That kid is too cute to be Hiboy's handy work. Mrs. Hiboy must be a real knockout to even his genes out.

Hey Rocky thanks for the pic of Donovan. I didn't make any calls on the hoist cause I wanted to be ready when I call for a quick turn around. Those things are usually in high demand , atleast when I need one. Thanks for the offer. I can't work on it till late tomorrow or maybe Sunday. Donovan has a friend over tonight and then he has a basket ball game in the early after noon.

Oh I dont have a truck anymore to haul things so I gotta be careful who and when I ask fer help.

I've got him by a couple of feet, well not for long he is growin like a weed. That pic is just after our maidin voiage in the coupe. It ended in disaster. Donovan lost a car through the little hole in the floor and my new reman fuel pump gave up the ghost and we loaded it back on the trailer.
