This may give you somewhat of an idea. 1952 4 door but we welded the back doors shut. Everyone will have different ways to do it. It matter what look you are going for. http://www.scroungers.net/project-progress-f9/52-chevy-mild-custom-t1271.htm
I found a really great book called "Tex Smith's How to chop tops" it show a lot of different cars and goes into planning and finishing,it was a gret help when I did the top on my 47 Zephyr sedan, of course they didn't show them chopping a Zephyr sedan but there were enough different vehicle that I was able to take a little here and there and had very good luck, I can't remember where i got my copy but try the used book sellers online. For me getting every thing planned properly took longer then the actual chop job, good luck.
There's a bloke here in Adelaide that had like a 51 Chevy or something. He made a 2 door out of it then chopped it. It was on the cover of ASR some years back. Looked really good, even close up. But I can't remember his name. I chopped my 37 Plymouth sedan years ago but never finished it before I sold it. Big job... But if you're prepared to spend the time it's worth it. I have a 54 Dodge sedan that I'm thinking of chopping (as a 4 door). I think John from John's Rod & Custom could also help you's out. I think he's done quite a few from what I understand. Louie
It was sold to another club member and still a work in progress. He may have some more pics..Where ya at Riggs??
