I just got a call from my girlfriend that they found a liver for her brother and that he has his liver transplant surgery tonight. I ask you for all your hopes and prayers that everything goes as planned tonight.

just so you know ,my wife used to work post op at the local VA hospital organ transplant unit, and livers have the highest success rate of all og's. With a few lifestyle changes on most recepiants all goes well. good luck to him and his family, and while you visit him in the hospital ask and fill a donor card yourself. [IMG]

I hope that things go as good for him as they did for my girlfriend. She had a liver transplant about 3 years ago, you can't tell except for the scar. It is amazing how fast they bounce back after the transplant. Our prayer's are with him & your family.

I just want to thank my HAMB brothers and sisters for the support!!!!!

So far the transplant is a success! All signs show to his body accepting the organ. The doctors removed the tubes from his chest last night and are supposed to remove the tube from his mouth today after the heart doctor gives his approval.

  14. These things work out more often than you hear. My father had a kidney and pancreas transplant six months ago and is doing great.

    Hang in there and best,
    Anthony
