George's Muffler Shop (817) 927-8241 4521 James Ave Fort Worth, TX On James Ave in Fort Worth across from Baptist Seminary. I20 james/ Crowley Road exit My family has been using since the 60's. Not only have they done a lot of hot rods they drive hot rods. Real cl***ic, old timer place. Knows what traditional exhausts because they installed them when they were contempary. If George is in a blessing just to talk hot rods. Check out his 30's truck in the bay.
If you ever get over this way, Jones in Ben Wheeler (near Canton) always treat me right. Did full duals with glaspacks on my 62 Sunliner for $160.
I know this thread was started sometime ago but I just finished doing business with Phils and I have nothing but GREAT things to say about his work. It was amazing watching him
Thanks for the update on DFW muffler shops. I've got a couple of cars that need complete systems, and I'm fussy. I'll drop into Phil's one day and take a look at his work. If it's as good as you suggest, he'll have another good customer. Eric
not to hijack but any one know of a good one in san antonio? the 53 has about 2 ft of pipe and thats it right now.
One in cleburne. On 174 and the RR tracks. He has been doing them since he was a young man. David has done many custom sets. Also another good one is on Belknap east of Beach. I can't think of the name at this moment..........
I just got back from having Phil at Phil's Muffler Shop (3318 N. Main Street, Ft. Worth, TX 817-740-1399 - near the historic stock yards) do some work on my new Buick. The car needed a pipe re-routed to clear the under-floor master cylinder. Phil was able to bend one up to fit into an almost impossible space along the inside of the left frame rail. When he got done it looked like it came from the factory that way. He works in the old fashioned way: making patterns from welding rod and then bending the pipe to match the pattern. A true craftsman. I'd highly recommend him and look forward to having him do complete systems on other cars I'm building.
