Brillo pads and some Vicks Vapo-Rub.

It gives a little tingle to let you know it's working!

Kresto is the only soap I use. Hands down...Nothing beats it, and I've used everything listed above. It's easy on the skin too.

Also their, Cupran Special smells like shit, but it takes any kind of paint, tar, stains, etc. off with no effort.

used to use lava bar soap at home. Recently found a new product made in my town- Hand Kind. Orange/citrus aroma, ground walnut shells for pumice. Works awesome-a quarter size dab will clean both arm up to the elbows and take off the nastiest grease.

  8. +1 for the Kresto!

The just about everything else mentioned kills my hands. The Go-jo orange cleaner is some of the worst I have ever used. Oh, it takes care of the grease but after a week or better of using it several times a day it also takes care of the natural oils in my hands. If it works for you, fantastic, you can keep it.

Seriously, these things work the best for me. SCRUBS hand cleaning towels, they remove everything and don't beat up your hands and skin. I work for a gas utility and all the field crews keep 'em in their trucks to clean up with. Definitely good stuff.

    Definitely better than Brillo

HAHAHA, true story........................years ago for my first job I worked in a grocery store. One Saturday afternoon this guy I worked with named Reggie comes in to work the night shift. Reggie was walking funny so I asked him what the problem was and he tells me he is all raw "down there". He says "Yesterday I was out at my parents place working on my old Mustang. When I finished up I was filthy so I took a shower but all they had was this soap called Lava, I've been raw ever since." I asked him if he knew that Lava had Pumice in it and he said "No, I dont even know what Pumice is". BTW, I like Fast Orange.

Nobody will believe me but, cheese. Have you ever tried to grate cheese without getting the block dirty? You can shower, wash your hands 15 times, it doesn't matter, it always comes out with dirt marks from your fingers... If you want sparkling clean hands, wash them like normal, then proceed to rub them with, or go grate some delicious, sharp cheddar... boraxo is a close 2nd...\

Wow, after going back through the thread I saw 49ratfinks post... missed it the first time !!!

A friend of mine swears that the grease from fried chicken is one of the most effective hand cleaners. I still question if it's really the chicken grease or all of the "finger lickin" he does while he's eating it.

Brillo and SOS pads will do a great job on the grease, but you can't be a girly man! Dawn works too, as others have mentioned. Man that Tide burns in the cuts!

How about invisable glove. You put it on your hands before you get them greasy. Wash's off with water. This shit works.

Tip: If you see fingerprints on the bread, you forgot to wash at all. :)

All good ideas, whatever works. I've used everything from Brake cleaner to mustard, but for grease the best is straight dish detergent. Any name brand will do, just not the watered down dollar store stuff. The best technique is to work it in thoroughly with a brush if needed, but do not mix or rinse with water until after the detergent is completely mixed with the grease.

By far the best out there. But I will try the Joes sometime.
