Seems I did it again. Replied on a thread before I formally introduced myself. I get a bit excited. Guess I will start with how I found the H.A.M.B. Of all things I was researching a 66 Econoline (hey spell check does not like that) 8 door super van that hit Craigslist not far from me. Said it ran and drove but was a coast rig for 400. There was no waiting for the weekend. I skipped out of work early on Friday and went to get it and drove it the 50 miles home. There is more story to it but right now I need a radiator. I intend to drive this van as my truck for awhile while I sell off a bigger truck project that I have decided not to do. The van will remain my truck while I refocus on my more better truck plan, the 1950 Ford F2. Have had this truck for about 10 years now and have been just saving it for a total as factory as I can get restore. Well with the big truck going away the intent now is to make the F2 a truck to be used. Granted I would not haul s**** metal or engine blocks in it but still a truck (I have trailers for the real bad stuff). The F2 will get the turbo diesel from a 83-86 Volvo 700 series car, I have checked and it is a prefect fit. Mated to that will be a T19 and maybe a gear splitter to keep the diesel in it's happy place. The truck will get updated axles and brakes. The rest, as in body, will remain as stock as possible. I will likely put 4wd under it as a truck should have traction when it is needed. Next on the list is the 1932 Chevy 3 window coupe. When I got the car about 12 years ago it had a Buick 231 in it. That engine is now gone and the car is like the truck waiting for some love. The body is mostly original with a gl*** truck lid and lower drivers door. I have original though VERY nasty original fenders and a set of not too bad front gl*** ones. The original running boards are not pretty either. All that is fine though as I think it should run bare anyway. Have the original headlamps with more modern ones fitted inside them. It have 10bolt rear and a drop front axle with Camaro (spell check does not like that one either) disk brakes. Would love to find an original hood for this car. And might as well spin everybody up now rather than later. I am intending a diesel now for this car too. Yes I have gone off the diesel deep end. Again the body will be maintained as I am not one for chopping bodies. That might conclude the neat stuff for this site. Other items include a 79 Postal Jeep, 84 Volvo 760 (can you guess? Turbo diesel), 95 Buick Roadmaster Wagon, 87 Toyota 4WD van (my Jeep), 83 Honda CX650T, 79 Honda CBX (really ****ped out and getting a diesel too). Things that are going away from the big truck project. 73 F-250 Crewcab, 76 F350 Crewcab, 86 F-250 Extended cab diesel, and a bunch of other stuff that has collected. OH and another that I do not fully claim as mine yet. 27 Ford "T" Bucket. I would rather not give a lot more information on this one as it is not fully mine. I will say that but for the body it is mostly a loss. The body has I hope been saved since I rescued it from a field many years ago. After all my searching on the web for information on these cars I find this site looking for Econolines, go figure. This seems to be a great site and I look forward to spending a lot of time here looking for ideas and getting guidance.
