Heres pics of my new flathead fresh from the machine shop. It is an 8BA with 59AB heads, early timing cover and waterpumps. Running an early Grancor intake. The block is .125 with a 4in crank. Enjoy!

Very Nice Sweats!! The 29 is going to be so sweet.

Black color steel heads with Acorn Nuts and an Intake is what my Merc's flatty will look like.

Great lookin' engine. It' really a good idea to get the engine ready early in the project. Wanting to hear it run is great incentive to get the rest of the car finished.

I am getting ready to start ***embling my 8BA.
Question.... Why did you install an early timing cover???
Space issues with the early pumps are just for looks??
    Yours looks great!

    Small question though.

I went with the early pumps and timing cover because of the space issue, I felt cutting into the front crossmember(its a gennie duece frame) was not the thing to do, and I have allways liked the look of the early blocks.

with the ventalation I'm in the process doing that right now, what I came up with is taking the stock fuel pump tower, turing it around, I'm using an electric pump, and attaching the down draft tube there, I do not have a problem with PCV valve I just prefer to not drill into a nice early intake

Nice job Eric, but that's an engine, not a motor.
Your Singer sewing machine has a motor.
