STOLEN CAR: Red 48 Ford business coupe... Southwestern Ontario

Stolen on September 29th, from a house in Breslau Ontario. The owner is a very, very big man.


1948 Ford Business Coupe-Pro Street
502 BB Chev,Tubbed 9 inch Ford Turbo 400
Frenched Headlights,shaved and smoothed
Bright Red-Tan Interior-Custom painted dash (Ken Kay) and garnish mouldings



This car has been on the road since 1995. It has been all over Canada and the US.

It should be easy to spot with the "wrong" driver in it then. I've made a note of it before on stolen car threads that Hotrod hotline www.hotrodhotline.com has a stolen car section that people all over tend to see.
This stolen car thing is happening way too often .

I just can't understand how some lowlifes have the balls to steal something as distinctive as that car,or as it seems many others rides.
Surely someone,somewhere would see it?
I realise Canada and the US are huge places but the Rodding community is close knit,so even the car or parts of (god forbid) will show up sooner or later.
I for one will keep an ear to the ground in case it,or parts show up over this side of the pond.

Thanks everyone. The owner is pretty sad about the whole deal... there are 14 years of memories wrapped up in that car. Kids grew up driving all over in the little back seat. Often people think of the time you spent building a hot rod/street rod/whatever you want to call it as the "memories", but often it is the time you spend in the car with friends and family that you remember when something like this happens.

I will be watching for it, I saw it sitting in his driveway a couple of days before it was reported stolen when D.W. & I were troubleshooting the model A.

One thing that I always thought was neat about that car & is very distinctive is the window garnish trim. It is painted in psychedelic swirly colors. Maybe D.W. can post a pic of this detail.

Hope to find it in one piece.

gotta wonder if some or alot of these cars arent going straight into a shipping container and heading overseas. The way so many are being ripped off and disappearing without a trace...
