steeling out a body questions

hi, i have searched the forum and archives but cant seem to find any pictures of steeling out a body. i am making a one off body and am interested in any pointers... anybody have pictures or a link to some?

It's an Australian expression. It means making in metal what would have been a wooden inner structure in a car. Usually with box tube.

You might try ozrodders, they discuss it a lot.

 

Replacing the wood with metal has be cussed and discussed on here.

At first I thought you were looking for links to hammer out a one off body shell out of steel. I've seen a lot of articles over the past 50 years about replacing the wood with steel but can't put my hands on one at the moment.

There is a book that I've seen on choppin tops that's printed in OZ by Graffiti Publications. In that book they cover "steeling out "several bodies that were chopped in Oz.
