Besides isn't the hood closed most of the time. Who the heck is going to look under there and say... "Oh man look at that hood, it's not perfect, this car sux."

I think that says it all right there.

so that hood photo was a rust "repair" ?? what the heck is all that crap on the inside?

the only thing a person should see on the inside of a rust repair is the weld line where the new piece was patched in. on a hood like that a person might be inclined to finish the inside too.

if I had a car out for repairs and saw that kind of work I'd pick it up too.

I get lots of you Einsteins telling me how to fix teeth. In 27 years not one person has been right.

Nothing like seeing work in progress. My dad hadn't had a chance to finish the job. SO he's only showing you what looks like shit is because it was never done being repaired.

Quick quiz: What happens when you weld a flexible body (rubber mounted), particularly a fender bottom, to a rigid frame? Keep in mind there is filler in that fender bottom. Also keep in mind that I had this perfectly lined up, mounted to the factory tab and bolt head hidden and flush...He "reworked" this his way and had a 9/16 bolt sticking out of the bottom of the fender, clearly visible. This would last about ten miles before it cracked. His response when I told him it looks like shit was "you know what I tell people when they get close enough to see that? Get the F away from my car." You can see it from twenty feet away mind you

And just about everyone else who has replied to this. Not one of the posters but the two parties involved has looked at this in person but all felt free to comment. This should have never been brought to the forum, instead resolved in a court of law. Everyone.............move on........nothing worth wasting any time on.:( Better yet, moderators close this turkey so the kids can learn to play right.

if that is part of the process he is doing it wrong. sorry .. there is no defending that. from where I stand the next step would be to remove everything and start over.

I retract my previous post. Sheetmetal looks ok, the hood repair and vents look like total shit though. Meh, who's right and who's wrong? Everybody. Let this be a lesson learned to everyone involved and reading. Including me.
