What do you suppose they do with them? Stealing is hard enough to understand but is there some black market value to these things I'm not aware of? Can't be for the metal there isn't enough risk getting hanged for. Messin' with a guys ride is kind like messin' with a cowboy's horse ain't it? I'm just sayin'...

tweakers, if they see something shiny they think they might get something for it, if they rip off a few hundred people they might get a few bucks. these people could care less if anything happens to them, they want to hit that pipe. I don't feel sorry for them either, they made the choice to start using the stuff, unless you live in a cave you know what the stuff does to you, yet they choose to do it anyway. Anyone stupid enough to see some 100 pound tweaker who hasn't bathed in a week, and is digging through someones garbage for something to sell, and then go TRY the stuff ,deserves what they get.

    yikes....

  7. many moons ago someone ripped the gto emblems off of the door panels of my 69 poncho ragtop.
    What the F*ck?!?!?
Now I have doorpanels with holes ripped in em' staring back at me?
What kinda ignorant jagoff do you have to be to destroy **** while stealing yourself a little trophy like that. I mean it's one thing to worry about driving your car and somebody hitting it, but maliciously destroying it. dont feel too bad about your missing tag Elwood, it can be replaced and nothing was wrecked in the process.
One of these days video surveilence alarms will be cheap enough to be common in cars.
At these times I tend to think about my God, His name is Karma.
Feel free to f*ck with him.

  8. Hey Elwood , You said they tried peeling the tag prior to taking it for real? sounds like they'd do it again. You might want to set a nice shiny trap of temptation for them. Mabey it'll turn out to be someone in your gym who you could accidently drop a couple of plates on, just like they accidently removed your tag from your dash.

Mine all get that sticky backed magnetic stuff. Mag'ed to the dash, so each year I just peal and stick that year to the beer fridge and install the current year.

yea they've stolen stuff from me too. guy down the street is one, he shakes so bad he can hardly hold still. I saw him run out in front of a car the other day to retrieve a can someone threw out. Nearly got squashed. We had one here break into a LIVE substation to steal some of the copper grounding cables. They have no self preservation instincts, if it's shiny and metal and they can steal it they will. If you have one on the dash, best bet is to rivet it down, then keep something over it non valuable looking when you are away from the car. be glad they didn't try to pry the rivets out of the dash on one.

damn thats funny!! and I pop rivited mine on I know pop rivits aren't traditional...BUT I still have it

  14. Make your own traditional-ish rivets by using a dremel with a small grinding wheel to put scallops in the edge of the rivet head. That would make them look like the ones used on mid-60s GM serial tags.

****, this thread just gets me all stirred up again, 'cause I hate thieves for breathing our oxygen! OutThere, you're right about those deadbeat crackheads. One I know is in prison for stealing my 440, and -- yes! -- his crackhead SON got caught and put in jail for stealing brand-new br*** emblems from the graves of dead VETERANS!!! What the f--- ?

The apple doesn't fall too far from the tree, eh? Off with their hands! (But FIRST, their BALLS!)

They should herd his son before a firing squad and shoot the worthless ******* dead for desecrating the graves of heroes.

It will be riveted onto "YOUR" new project and parked at a popular spot/car show with it clearly visible.

Who the hell would steal someone's alliance tag unless it was for something sinister anyway?

There is more than one kind of tag? I've seen the one at shows, how do you get them?

That ****s. A story of a little vengeance might be appropriate right now:

My uncle lived in Chicago for a while in the '70s, thieving *******s kept stealing his CB. It was screwed to the bottom of his dash, but they would just grab it and rip it out and run.

So my uncle bought another CB, and soldered fish hooks to the back side of it. Didn't take long before another thief tried to rip the CB out again, but this time his fingers got skewered on those fish hooks. The blood trail across the parking lot was pretty ugly....hahahahaha.

Can't believe someone would do that, just don't understand that kind. I'm kinda scared to paint my truck beyond primer now since I drive it everywhere and shiny paint seems to attract every lowlife with a key.

On a related note, we saw instant justice here recently when a guy tried to steal wire from an industrial plant and got hold of 460 volts.

When you catch the fuc**n thief make sure you tie them to the bumper of your hot rod and drag their lowlife *** to the bone !
That really **** ! You just can't even glue something down that they won't steal ! This **** has got to stop ! I do agree with someone else that said the Arabs have it right and cut their hand off if they get caught stealing something !

I had a speaker box in a OT vehicle bolted in place...had speakers stolen from it previously...

I carpeted it with strategically placed well-hidden razor blades...a "friend" of mine was fiddling with the box while talking with me one day and cut his finger open pretty badly...I said "oops, sorry"

word got out and my none of my cars had been broken into after that.

months later the dude ended up screwing me out of $500 so it all worked out I guess

same could be done for alliance member plaque I suppose.

Just had a CD player stolen out of my car, this time they didn't break anything. I don't lock my doors anymore, got sick of replacing gl***. I don't leave anything in there that's worth more than a broken window. My ashtrays all mangled from some ******* stealing all my loose change for the parking meters too.

It would be worth them doing it, for me to catch them doing it. Think I'd punch them in teh face till my arm stopped working.
